As part of the exhibition BLÅ FAVN by Kathrine Ærtebjerg & Eva Steen Christensen, Galleri DGV is pleased to present two concerts with Kathrine Ærtebjerg

Both concerts will take place on Thursday 20 August, with one held in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

The morning concert is organised in collaboration with barselsboblen_fyn and is especially intended for parents on parental leave in Svendborg. The concert begins at 10:00 am.

The afternoon concert is open to everyone and begins at 5:00 pm.

Kathrine Ærtebjerg is a leading figure in Danish contemporary art, renowned for her poetic and surreal works in which nature, fantasy, the body, and emotion merge into a distinctive visual universe.

The concert offers a unique opportunity to experience a different side of Kathrine Ærtebjerg’s artistic practice and to gain a deeper insight into the themes and atmospheres that characterise her work.

At the concerts Kathrine Ærtebjerg will be accompanied by guitarist Morten Vestergaard.

I dag mindes vi Viera Collaro, som ville være fyldt 80 år.

Viera Collaro (1946–2026) var en pioner inden for dansk lyskunst. Gennem mere end fem årtier udviklede hun et særegent kunstnerisk sprog, hvor lys, farve, rum og perception smeltede sammen i værker, der bevægede sig mellem det materielle og det immaterielle. Med neon, LED, fotografi, maleri og skulptur undersøgte hun lyset - ikke blot som et fysisk fænomen, men også som en eksistentiel erfaring.

Projektet '1000 Farver', som hun udviklede sammen med kunstneren Niels Nedergaard i 1970'erne, blev definerende for hendes kunstneriske virke. Undersøgelsen af farvernes indbyrdes relationer og intensitet blev central for hendes senere arbejde med lys som et levende og foranderligt medie. Gennem monumentale, stedsspecifikke installationer i det offentlige rum satte hun et varigt præg på den danske kunstscene og på de utallige mennesker, der oplevede - og stadig oplever - hendes værker.

Through neon, LEDs, photography, painting and sculpture, she explored light not only as a physical phenomenon, but also as an existential experience.

A defining foundation of her practice was the project 1000 Colours, developed together with artist Niels Nedergaard in the 1970s. This investigation of colour relationships and intensity became central to her later work with light as a living and transformative medium. Through monumental, site-specific Installations in public spaces, she left a lasting mark on the Danish art scene and on countless people who encountered her work.
