This chapter is coming to an end.
I’m excited to see where the next one leads 🤎

For Emma Mercedes Riis, glass is never static. Rather than existing in isolation, each piece comes alive through light; entering a dialogue with its surroundings, revealing new expressions as the light shifts.

From vibrant vessels to crystalline sculptures, her pieces celebrate transparency, colour and the natural playfulness that unfolds when sunlight moves across the glass.

The windswept heathlands of Vendsyssel are at the heart of Anna Mørch’s practice. With a delicate balance of colour, line and atmosphere, she captures not only the landscape itself but the feeling of moving through it.

Living just outside Ålbæk, Mørch draws inspiration from the open horizons, resilient vegetation and ever-changing light of Northern Jutland. Her works blur the line between the outer landscape and the inner one, inviting us to pause and rediscover the quiet poetry of places we might otherwise pass by.

Louise Gaarmann’s ceramic sculptures inhabit a space between the familiar and the imagined. Their expressive forms emerge intuitively, shaped by spontaneous ideas and the rhythms of nature.

With flowing glazes and tactile surfaces, the works invite both curiosity and contemplation, hinting at natural phenomena, landscapes or living organisms without ever settling into a fixed interpretation.

Based by the sea and surrounded by nature, Louise Gaarmann creates ceramics that celebrate the subtle imperfections and tactility of the handmade.

A particular strength in Fischer’s work lies in his compositional sensitivity. Figures, gazes and spaces are intuitively balanced, allowing seemingly unstructured scenes to hold a clear visual weight and calm coherence.

Hans Fischer is a self-taught visual artist and photographer based in Copenhagen, where he is part of the artist community N232.

In these embossed paper works titled Langsomme Lyn, Hanne Skjold Knudsen invites us to pay attention to what almost escapes the eye. Emerging only through shifts in light and shadow, the delicate reliefs unfold slowly, revealing traces that are at once organic and elusive.

Langsomme Lyn is based on small sections of wrinkles around women’s mouths, magnified and embossed onto white paper. Their understated beauty reveals itself only to those who spend time engaging with the works.

Working with presence as both method and material, Knudsen creates quiet spaces for contemplation. The works resist immediacy, asking instead for slowness, attentiveness and a willingness to linger with the subtle.

In the Ena Strand Summer Selection you will find a limited edition photographic print of the textile sculpture Murex 4ever. Created by Signe Emdal in Icelandic wool using her Touch Medium.

Murex 4ever is as much a tribute to the rich heritage of Mediterranean cultures as to the wild landscapes of Signe Emdal’s native Denmark, reflecting the artist’s enthusiasm for historical studies as well as her great sensitivity to nature.

The piece hanging in the gallery this summer translates the tactile qualities of the original textile piece into a two-dimensional format, highlighting Emdal’s compositional skill in a new medium. The bespoke frame acts as an extension of the work itself, giving the photographic print a sculptural presence that echoes the tactile richness of the original textile piece.

Signe Emdal is a visual artist and textile artisan based in Copenhagen, but with strong ties to Skagen. Her work is rooted in ancient weaving and carpet traditions yet reinterpreted though a contemporary, esoteric lens. Combining in-depth research with an intuitive making process, her work transforms historical, artistic, and personal influences into original tactile forms that invite sensory and emotional engagement.

Heidi Lillevang works with ceramics, creating sculptural forms that emerge through a close dialogue between artist, material, and kiln. Using repeated elements and a reduced material palette, she explores the balance between structure and variation, intention and chance.

The works shown here are selected from Lillevang’s most recent body of woodfired work, created for her solo exhibition Speedy Soda. Shaped by ash, flame and heat, each piece carries the unique imprint of its making. Organic yet architectural, the sculptures reveal a fascination with repetition, transformation, and the unpredictable beauty of the firing process.

In Felis Dos’ paintings, personal mythology and fragmented realities unfold in layered, dreamlike compositions. Drawing from questions of identity, spirituality and belonging, he creates visual universes where symbols, memories and emotions coexist without fixed meaning.

This work invites the viewer into a space of ambiguity and introspection —— where architectural forms, organic lines and vivid colour become part of an ongoing process of deconstruction and becoming. Rather than offering answers, Felis Dos opens a poetic space for reflection on who we are and how we make sense of the worlds we inhabit.

Nathalie Cohn’s sculptural works explore tactility, presence and our relationship with the physical world.

Working intuitively with clay and glaze, she creates abstract, organic forms that appear both weighty and fluid, where material and process are allowed to shape the final expression. Flowing glazes and richly textured surfaces lend each piece a quiet sense of movement, inviting viewers to slow down and engage with the sensory qualities of the work.

Nathalie Cohn holds a BA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts on Bornholm and an MA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
