Dino Cama, AMBICIJA, 76 x 77 - 84 x 64 indrammet, kul, pastel, collage, olie og akryl på papir 2026

Dino Cama’s AMBICIJA centres on a solitary seated figure whose direct gaze and frontal position give the work an immediate, almost confrontational presence. The figure is surrounded by a vivid field of yellow, pink, and blue, while the body itself is rendered predominantly in charcoal and black, creating a strong tension between the colourful surroundings and the weight of the central character.

The title, AMBICIJA – “ambition” – introduces the work as a reflection on aspiration and the forces that drive an individual forward. Yet Cama avoids presenting ambition simply as confidence or success. The figure appears composed and self-possessed, but also exposed, suggesting the pressure, uncertainty, and vulnerability that can accompany the desire to progress or become something more.

Working with charcoal, pastel, collage, oil, and acrylic, Cama allows different visual languages to coexist within the same image. Areas of dense material and rough mark-making meet more graphic lines and patterns, giving the work a deliberately constructed and layered character.

The work is part of the newly opened exhibition "Open Nerves" running until the 3rd October. The exhibition also marks the beginning of Galleri Franz Pedersen’s temporary exhibition programme in Copenhagen. Until January 23, 2027, the space at Løngangstræde will host a changing programme of exhibitions featuring both new and established artists from the gallery’s programme.

Upon request, we are happy to provide a showroom with available works by the gallery’s artists.

As our artists and works currently are presented across both our gallery in Horsens and our temporary space in Copenhagen, we recommend contacting us before your visit if you would like to see a particular artist or specific work.

A look back at a project several years in the making.

For AP Pension’s new headquarters in Nordhavn, art was considered from the very beginning as part of the building’s architecture, identity and everyday environment.

The project began with an informal conversation with AP Pension’s CEO, Bo Normann, back in 2019. What started as an idea about introducing art into a new setting gradually developed into a larger vision: to create a building where art could grow alongside the architecture and the culture that would become part of its daily life.

Throughout the project, Galleri Franz Pedersen acted as an art advisor and curatorial link between the artists and the client. Among the artists we brought into the project were Michael Kvium, Maria Rubinke and Jacob Rantzau, each of whom created site-specific works for the building.
The result ranged from monumental paintings and bronze sculptures to a floor installation spanning more than 1,200 m², integrated directly into the building’s atrium.

The close integration of art and architecture also formed part of the building’s approach to sustainability. The headquarters was pre-certified DGNB Gold and was expected to achieve DGNB Diamond, while the site-specific integrated artworks could contribute under DGNB’s bonus indicator for integrated art.

For us, the project became an example of what could happen when art was considered early in the process and given the opportunity to develop in direct dialogue with the architecture.

Jacob Brostrup, SPEAKING TO NATURE, 2026, 40 × 35 cm

SPEAKING TO NATURE places a solitary, bare-backed figure within dense, almost enveloping vegetation. Reaching into the foliage, the figure seems to seek contact with the surrounding landscape, creating an intimate encounter between the human body and nature.

Brostrup builds the scene through deep greens, scattered flashes of colour and his characteristic vertical structures, which give the image a layered, almost vibrating surface. The luminous skin stands in sharp contrast to the dark vegetation, while the boundary between figure and surroundings gradually begins to dissolve. SPEAKING TO NATURE becomes a quiet reflection on connection, presence and humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

Christian Lemmerz, Schädel, 2026, Unique, Bronze, 15 × 13 × 15 cm

Schädel presents the human skull as a compact and uncompromising sculptural form. Deep, hollow eye sockets and an open nasal cavity contrast with the rounded mass of the cranium, while the bronze retains an intentionally rough and irregular surface. Subtle variations in the dark patina reveal traces of the modelling process and give the object a distinctly physical presence.

The skull is a recurring symbol of mortality and the transience of human existence, and in Lemmerz’s hands it becomes both anatomical object and existential image. Stripped of narrative surroundings, Schädel confronts the viewer directly with the materiality of the body and the inevitability of its disappearance.

Carla Kjærgaard, Love of my life, 2024. Gesso, wallpaper glue, ink, oil paint, oil pastel and pencil on canvas, 56 x 47 - 52 x 62 indrammet

Carla Kjærgaard’s Love of My Life transforms an intimate, familiar phrase into an image that is considerably more ambiguous. A large blue figure bends forward and dominates the composition, while another reclining body appears in the background. Their relationship remains unresolved: they appear physically close, yet psychologically distant.

This tension between intimacy and isolation is characteristic of Kjærgaard’s practice. She often allows emotional and relational states to manifest through distorted bodies rather than through explicit narratives. Here, the exaggerated scale and posture of the foreground figure suggest heaviness, withdrawal, or introspection, while the title introduces an expectation of affection that the image never fully confirms.

The work is built through layers of gesso, wallpaper glue, ink, oil paint, oil pastel, and pencil. Its uneven, exposed surface reinforces the sense of vulnerability within the scene, allowing traces of the painting process to remain visible rather than resolving the image into a polished whole.

The work is part of the exhibition "Open Nerves" running until the 3rd October. The exhibition also marks the beginning of Galleri Franz Pedersen’s temporary exhibition programme in Copenhagen. Until January 23, 2027, the space at Løngangstræde will host a changing programme of exhibitions featuring both new and established artists from the gallery’s programme.

Frederik Næblerød, Mask of Society (008), 2026, Ceramic, 18 × 15 cm

Mask of Society (008) is part of Frederik Næblerød’s ongoing Mask of Society series, exploring the different masks we adopt throughout life. Moving between social roles, expectations and situations, we continually adjust how we present ourselves - sometimes consciously, sometimes instinctively.

Here, the mask takes the form of a distorted, skull-like face with oversized eyes and exposed teeth. Its uneven surface and pale green glaze give the ceramic object an aged, almost excavated quality, while its exaggerated expression introduces the raw humour and unease characteristic of Næblerød’s visual language. Rather than revealing a fixed identity, the mask becomes a reflection on the shifting faces we construct and inhabit in relation to the world around us.

Jacob Rantzau, Path Dependency, 2026, Oil on canvas, 120 × 250 cm

A human figure struggles through a landscape that appears as physical and tangible as the figure itself. In Path Dependency, Jacob Rantzau places the solitary figure in a terrain of mud and water, while the open landscape stretches almost endlessly towards the horizon.

The work was presented by Galleri Franz Pedersen at ENTER Art Fair 2026.

Jacob Rantzau’s upcoming solo exhibition ARV opens with a reception on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 5–11 PM during Kulturnatten in Copenhagen at Galleri Franz Pedersen, Løngangstræde 20, ground floor right, 1468 Copenhagen.

Jacob Brostrup, THE WAVES, 2026, 130 × 150 cm

THE WAVES presents an elegant interior overtaken by a restless body of water, dissolving the boundary between architecture and the natural world. Waves move across polished floors and through open doorways, while the room’s classical details remain visible beneath layers of reflections, transparency and cool blue-green tones.

Brostrup creates an almost dreamlike collision between the familiar and the impossible. The precise architectural space appears simultaneously solid and fluid, as though the interior itself is being transformed by the movement of the water. Through layered perspectives and shifting surfaces, THE WAVES evokes a suspended moment in which control, permanence and domestic order give way to something larger and less predictable.
