Maj fondet for støtte.
English;
Thank you so much to everyone who came by the exhibition "What Will Become of Eid?", with 46 paintings and text created by children in Gaza.
Today we had an online connection to Gaza and the West Bank, where Mohammad Zaqzooq spoke about working with the children, the paintings, and how Tamer Institute for Community Education continues to do everything they can to make it possible for children to express themselves through art, in the midst of an extreme situation that no human being, and especially no child, should have to live through.
The exhibition has been a deeply felt gesture of respect for the work of Tamer Institute and the Danish House in Palestine. Thank you to curator Hanna Ishaid for creating this exhibition, which is now ready to travel further. Please contact us if you have an idea for where it could be shown next.
Our theme at rum46 is "home". This exhibition focused on those whose homes are taken from them and whose homes are destroyed. In this context, art can become a way to survive, to create hope, and to leave traces of experiences and lives that are too often erased.
Thank you to Mira Samara from Tamer Institute and Frederik Nielbo from the Danish House in Palestine. You are doing incredible work.
Here is a photo from today, when Huda, co-founder of the online shop Ajyal, also came by.
Thank you for letting us include the Palestinian ceramic bowls in the exhibition. Ajyal has many beautiful things from Palestine, and you can find them here: https://ajyal.dk
