INVISIBLE CITIES – STANDARD TIME

INVISIBLE CITIES – STANDARD TIME focuses on the gap that arises between simulated spaces and their physical construction (between life and its models). Whilst the previous exhibition, Invisible Cities (Hamburg, 2024), explored how this dynamic manifests itself in computer logic, visual perception and economic development, the introduction of the theme of navigation shifts this focus in the forthcoming instalment: ‘Standard Time’ focuses on the ephemeral and is based on the premise that the measurement of space cannot be separated from the measurement of time. The standardisation of time, which was driven primarily by economic considerations, is therefore the prerequisite that enabled the physical and the virtual to come together in the first place. The works on display explore the logic of the environment and its representation in models from various artistic perspectives.
