Shaped by Georg Baselitz and Per Kirkeby, Karl-Heinz Schwind has exhibited internationally for decades. His works are held in important collections worldwide, and his paintings were presented at leading art fairs, including Art Basel and The Armory Show in New York.

Following a period of reduced public visibility due to personal circumstances, his work is now back in the spotlight.

Karl-Heinz Schwind: Reine Malerei

For Karl-Heinz Schwind, art was not a possibility but a necessity. Following his studies at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe under Georg Baselitz and subsequently as a master student of Per Kirkeby, he devoted himself to painting with uncompromising commitment for decades. Driven by what might be described as an inner demon, Schwind formed an existential bond with the medium that came to define his life, sustained even through periods of precarious living conditions.
