Who gets to show their art? Let the Wheel of Fortune decide. Drawing lots is a key part of democratic decision-making that dates back to ancient times.

For the duration of documenta fifteen, artists Hannes Egger and Thomas Sterna will give away a series of one-week presentation slots in a rented exhibition space at KulturBahnhof Kassel to participating artists. Twelve solo exhibitions are up for grabs: In a total of three draws held between May and August 2022, twelve artists can each win a slot to show their artworks. The exhibition project will

be accompanied by a symposium discussing new ways and chances of selecting and providing access to public and private exhibition spaces. Now, in parallel with the documenta fifteen world art show in Kassel, the Win-Win Lottery will see the process introduced to the art world – as an orderly selection tool.
