Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press und Tom McCarthy sind am kommenden Donnerstag, den 20. Oktober 2022 ab 19:00 Uhr zu Gast im HMKV 🙌. Gemeinsam mit Inke Arns sprechen sie im rund einstündigen Rundgang über die aktuelle Ausstellung und ihre Arbeiten.
Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press und Tom McCarthy habe bereits mehrfach zusammen gearbeitet. Zur Ausstellung „Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press: Soft Parts Wing Flap Fin“ bietet wir eine Begleitpublikation (in englischer Sprache) 📙 an. Diese ist vor Ort auf der Ausstellungsfläche des HMKV erhältlich.
Enthalten ist unter anderem der Text „The Woods Decay, The Woods Decoy and Fall“ (2021), welchen Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press in Kooperation mit Autor Tom McCarthy verfasste. Die gemeinsame Arbeit stellt einen absurden Text und ein Theaterskript zugleich dar. Tom McCarthy unterhält sich darin als T (für Typhoon) mit Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press als F (für Falcon). Im Verlauf entwickelt sich auf eine verspielt-bittere Weise ein Konflikt.

The HMKV offers an accompanying publication (in English) for the exhibition „Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press: Soft Parts Wing Flap Fin“. This is available on site at the HMKV exhibition space.
Included is, among other things, the text „The Woods Decay, The Woods Decoy and Fall (2021)“, which the artist wrote in cooperation with author Tom McCarthy. More than 5,000 visitors have already found their way through the exhibition, whose scenography is reminiscent of a giant house of mirrors 🪞.
“House of Mirrors” takes the common clichés about AI as an opportunity to talk about topics such as hidden human labour, algorithmic bias/discrimination, the problem of categorisation and classification, as well as our fantasies about AI, and to ask whether (and how) it is possible to regain agency in this context. Juli 2022 habt Ihr Zeit die Ausstellung rund ums Thema Künstliche Intelligenz zu besuchen. Die Ausstellung im HMKV, im Dortmunder U Ebene 3 präsentiert mehr als 20 künstlerischen Arbeiten internationaler Künstler*innen ist in sieben thematische Kapitel unterteilt.
Eine gute Gelegenheit spannende Einblicke und jede Menge Infos zu den ausgestellten Werken zu erhalten bietet sich direkt morgen am Pfingstmontag (06. Juni 2022). Dann findet wieder unsere Führung durch die Ausstellung statt 🧑🏫. Treffpunkt ist um 16 Uhr am Ausstellungseingang. Eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich. Die Führung ist wie der Ausstellungsbesuch kostenfrei 🙌.

Half-time! 🔔 Half of the runtime of "House of Mirrors: Artificial Intelligence as Phantasm" has already been reached. But don't worry: you still have time to visit the exhibition on the topic of artificial intelligence until 31 July 2022. The exhibition at the HMKV, at the Dortmunder U Level 3, presents more than 20 artistic works by international artists and is divided into seven thematic chapters.
A good opportunity to get exciting insights and lots of information about the exhibited works is tomorrow on Whit Monday (06 June 2022). Then our guided tour through the exhibition will take place again 🧑🏫. The meeting point is at 16:00 at the exhibition entrance. Registration is not necessary. Like the exhibition visit, the guided tour is free of charge 🙌.

Impressionen vom Aufbau 🛠🤩
Gemeinsam mit der Dortmunder Designagentur "please don't touch", welche die Szenografie zu "House of Mirrors: Künstliche Intelligenz als Phantasma" entwickelt haben, arbeiten fleißig wir an der neuen Ausstellung.
In achten Tagen ist es dann so weit. Dann findet unser SOFT OPENING (08. April 2022, 17:00 – 22:00 Uhr) im HMKV, im Dortmunder U Ebene 3 statt!

Eight days to go until our SOFT OPENING (08 April 2022, 17:00 - 22:00) will take place at HMKV, in the Dortmunder U Level 3!
The curators of the exhibition Inke Arns, Francis Hunger and Marie Lechner, the HMKV team and numerous artists will be there. Drinks will be available for refreshments. Letzte Chance: Nächste Woche Donnerstag, 24. Februar 2022 um 19:00 Uhr findet die letzte Führung von Künstler*innen Jana Kerima Stolzer @janakerima_8917 und Lex Rütten @lex.89x_it durch ihr Online-Projekt „Pawāaraibu – filling the vacuum: Episode 02“ (2021) im Rahmen der Ausstellung „Technoschamanismus“ statt (nur noch bis zum 06. März zu sehen!).
Die Online-Führung findet auf Mozilla Hubs statt, eine browser-basierte Social VR Plattform. Zusammen mit den Künstler*innen werden vier Szenen aus ihrer Videoarbeit in dem virtuellen Raum besucht. Dabei könnt ihr Euch sogar einen eigenen Avatar aussuchen und mit anderen Teilnehmenden interagieren. Anschließend ist Raum zur Diskussion. Die Künstler*innen freuen sich, mit Euch ins Gespräch zu kommen.
