Robots are the central and constantly recurring motif in the work of Pixelpancho. His figures appear like relics of a forgotten future — marked by time, rust and decay. The artist describes his visual worlds as forgotten spaces beneath layers of dust and dirt, populated by robots as creations of humankind: damaged, worn and suspended between organic life and mechanical construction.
The artist’s surreal visual worlds exist somewhere between Urban Art, dystopian poetry and narrative painting. Characteristic of his work is the combination of richly detailed surfaces, melancholic atmosphere and a visual language that merges influences from Street Art, classical painting and contemporary illustration.
Born in Italy, Pixelpancho studied at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin as well as at the Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia. Through numerous international projects, festivals and exhibitions, he became one of the defining voices of the Italian Urban Art scene alongside artists such as Blu, Erica il Cane and the Fame Festival.
