We were spellbound by the opening of”The Whole Universe is Crammed into Your Body", Ovidiu Toader's immersive solo show!
🌿 Drawing from a rich tapestry of influences including art, science, philosophy, and engineering, Ovidiu's creations transport us to realms both familiar and fantastical. Yet, amidst this complexity, he remains firmly rooted in his origins. Much of his inspiration springs from the Romanian countryside, near the mountains of Brasov, where his grandparents reside. It is here that Ovidiu's conceptual journey began, where he first encountered the raw beauty of nature, the elements, and the simple grace of everyday life.
👏 We extend our heartfelt thank you to Ovidiu for sharing his remarkable vision with us! And invite everyone to dive into the magic of "The Whole Universe is Crammed into Your Body".

[DE] 🌌 Letzten Donnerstag sind wir in die fesselnde Welt von Ovidiu Toaders Soloausstellung - "The Whole Universe is Crammed into Your Body " - eingetaucht!
🌿 Aus einem reichhaltigen Geflecht aus Kunst, wissenschaftlichem Experiment und Philosophie entführen uns Ovidius Werke in vertraute und dennoch phantastische Welten. Trotz dieser Komplexität bleibt der Künstler fest verwurzelt in seinen Ursprüngen. Ein Großteil seiner Inspiration entspringt der rumänischen Landschaft, in der Nähe der Gebirge um Brașov, wo seine Großeltern leben. Hier begann Ovidius konzeptuelle Reise, wo er die rohe Schönheit der Natur und die einfache Anmut des täglichen Lebens entdeckte.
👏 Wir danken Ovidiu von Herzen, dass er seine bemerkenswerte Vision mit uns teilt, und laden Euch ein, die Magie seines Projekts in unserem Haus zu erleben.

Artist-explorer is preparing for his new site-specific environment at our art space in Berlin. Stay tuned, as we’ll progressively reveal his alter-universe around the “memory of water” and the interconnectedness of all things living and inanimate.. 🌊🌀

A cross-disciplinary artist whose practice stems from sculpture, Ovidiu Toader aggregates, processes, and refines various languages and mediums of expression to build complex installations that reinvest exhibition spaces through a coherent and totalizing vision. Der Künstler-Entdecker Ovidiu Toader bereitet sich auf seine neue raumübergreifende Installation in unserem Kunstraum in Berlin vor. Bleiben Sie dran, während wir nach und nach sein Alternativuniversum um das “Gedächtnis des Wassers” und die Verbundenheit aller lebenden und unbelebten Dinge enthüllen.. 🌊🌀

Ovidiu Toader ist ein interdisziplinärer Künstler, der seine Praxis auf Skulptur basiert. Er nutzt verschiedene Sprachen und Ausdrucksformen, um komplexe Installationen zu schaffen, die Ausstellungsräume durch eine kohärente und totalisierende Vision neu interpretieren. Für Ovidiu wird die Ausstellungsform selbst zum Medium – das letzte Element des mentalen Konstrukts, das er kunstvoll erschafft. Dream Gallery artists of the day! You can see Mihai's work LEDA in the upcoming performance, all happening in Iris's scenography.

Iris Christidi, a Greek-Belgian artist, began her studies in theatre at De Kleine Academie in Brussels, after which she obtained a bachelor's degree in scenography at La Cambre ENSAV, Belgium, and a master's degree in stage design at UdK Berlin. When not performing with FCDU at WestGermany/NOrth Europe in Berlin, she travels between jobs and countries to work with directors in theatre and film. Recently, she has been developing her drawing and comics practice in Germany. She lives and works in Berlin.

Mihai Grecu was born in Romania in 1981. After studying art and design in Romania and France, he has been pursuing his artistic research at the Fresnoy Studio of Contemporary Arts. Recurring topics such as environmental crysis, political allegories, new technologies and catastrophes articulate the whole of his exploration of mysterious and subconscious beginnings. These visual and poetic trips mix several techniques and may be seen as propositions for a new dream oriented technology.

Dream Gallery artists of the day! You can see Dimitri and Ioana acting in the upcoming performance!

Ioana Elena Urda is a Romanian actress, acting teacher and philologist. Since 2023 she is working on her PhD on reconfigurations of political theater. Ioana is co-founder of the Eastern European artists' collective Dzest:re and works as a freelance actress in Berlin with TAK Theater, Little Black Fish Collective etc. With Das letzte Kleinod she travels and stages documentary theater. Ioana teaches scene study and film acting at the Berliner Schule für Schauspiel.

Dimitri Cacouris is a theatre maker interested in fantasy worlds, physical theatre and immersive and multimedia performances based on interdisciplinary practices. After graduating with a BA in Theatre and Performance from Bard College in upstate New York, Dimitri settled in Berlin and worked most closely with REPLICA, a dance-theatre group focusing on the intersections of technology and performance, and FCDU, a collective of mainly set and costume designers who produce politically charged performances with a trashy aesthetic. Their most recent works of note have been presented at the Berliner Festspiele's Stückemarkt, WestGermany and 48 Stunden Neukölln.
