💫Artist´s + Curator´s Tour mit Rohini Devasher und Britta Färber

Die Ausstellung »Borrowed Light« thematisiert die langjährige Auseinandersetzung von Rohini Devasher mit der Astronomie an der Schnittstelle von Wissenschaft, Kunst und Philosophie. Welche Rolle spielen die Erde und die Menschheit im Universum, und wie wird unsere Gesellschaft von dem beeinflusst, was wir sehen – oder nicht sehen können?

In einer Führung sprechen Rohini Devasher, Deutsche Bank „Artist of the Year" 2024, und Britta Färber, Global Head of Art & Culture, Deutsche Bank, und Kuratorin der Ausstellung, über die zentrale Bedeutung des Lichts, transgenerationale Forschungsinteressen und die persönlichen Geschichten von Hobby-Astronom*innen, deren Leben sich durch die Beobachtung des Nachthimmels für immer verändert hat.

The exhibition »Borrowed Light« tells the story of Rohini Devasher’s longstanding engagement with astronomy on the intersections of science, art, and philosophy. What is the role of Earth and humanity in the universe, and how is our society affected by what we can - or cannot - see?

In the special guided tour, Rohini Devasher, Deutsche Bank “Artist of the Year 2024”, and Britta Färber, Global Head of Art & Culture, Deutsche Bank, and curator of the exhibition, talk about the pivotal role of light, transgenerational research interests and personal stories of amateur astronomers whose lives have been forever changed by looking at the night sky.

On the first weekend of Advent, we start the pre-Christmas season with a colorful program for young and old! Free admission!

✨Design & craft market: Discover unique and special products from regional traders in the fields of ceramics, illustration, jewelry, design, and natural cosmetics. Our museum shop has also come up with some special goods!

🕯️Workshop with : On Saturday, festive and individual Advent wreaths made of glass balls can be designed in a workshop on two dates (please register via our ticket shop).

💫Kosmische Perspektiven – Kunst und Astronomie im Dialog

Wie fängt man eine Eklipse ein? Oder - hat der Mond auch dunkle Seiten? Die einmalige Möglichkeit Fragen zur Astronomie und Kunst zu stellen, gibt es nächste Woche:

In einer Tandemführung sprechen Dr. Monika Staesche, stellvertretende Vorständin der Stiftung Planterarium Berlin und Direktorin des Planetariums am Insulaner sowie der Wilhelm-Foerster-Sternwarte, und die Kunsthistorikerin Dr. Elisabeth Klotz über die Hintergründe der ausgestellten Kunstwerke in der Ausstellung »Borrowed Light«. Die Künstlerin Rohini Devasher verbindet in ihren Arbeiten Kunst und Astronomie sowie Wissenschaftsgeschichte und Philosophie auf einzigartige Weise.

Yoga under the stars ✨🌒

Wie wäre es, Kunst kopfüber zu betrachten? In diesem Workshop wird Rohini Devashers kosmische Kunst aus neuen Perspektiven erkundet. 🧘🏾‍♀️🧘🏻‍♂️ Die Yogapraxis wird unter der Leitung von Yogalehrerin Tamara in der Ausstellung »Borrowed Light« stattfinden und den Fokus auf das Gleichgewicht zwischen Körper und Geist legen. 🎨Mit der kreativen Methode der Neuroart, gibt es am Ende die Möglichkeit, individuelle Wünsche und Vorhaben in abstrakte Muster mit der Neuroart-Spezialistin Ella zu übersetzen.

Leiko Ikemura ist eine international renommierte Künstlerin, die ihre Inspiration bei alten japanischen Meistern wie auch im Surrealismus, der Nachkriegsmoderne und der figurativen Malerei der 1980er-Jahre findet.

Rohini Devasher ist „Artist of the Year” 2024 der Deutschen Bank. Die indische Künstlerin verbindet wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse physikalischer Phänomene der Wahrnehmung mit eigenem künstlerischem Material zu installativen Projekten.

Im Rahmen der Berlin Art Week 2024 spricht Rohini Devasher mit Stephanie Rosenthal, Direktorin des Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Project, und Professorin Lorraine Daston, emeritierte Direktorin des Max-Planck-Instituts für Wissenschaftsgeschichte, über ihre vielschichtige künstlerische Arbeit und ihrer Faszination Naturwissenschaft, Kunst und Philosophie zu verbinden.

As part of Berlin Art Week 2024, Rohini Devasher speaks with Stephanie Rosenthal, Director of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Project, and Professor Lorraine Daston, Director emerita, Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, about her multi-layered artistic work and her fascination with combining science, art and philosophy.

Die Künstlerin Zohra Opoku ist international bekannt für ihre Arbeit mit textilen Materialien und dem Verweben von historischen und persönlichen Themen, insbesondere im Kontext des zeitgenössischen Ghana.

Im vergangenen Jahr waren ihre Arbeiten in der Gruppenausstellung „The Struggle of Memory – Sammlung Deutsche Bank“ im PalaisPopulaire zu sehen.
