EN (DE unten): One project, seven artists, eight exhibitions, more than 140 impressive works reflecting unique artistic practices and presenting the distinctive complex worlds of the artists, works created in different techniques, addressing different themes – and yet each making its own contribution to the artistic exploration of patterns.

The project is coming to an end. Two days left to see its final exhibition – Fri, 7 November, and Sat, 8 November, from 16:00 to 21:00.
Soldinerstraße 103, 13359 Berlin.

Then we will leave the welcoming space of our residency at BAS CS Gallery in Kolonie Wedding.
And, of course, we are already preparing and looking forward to the next steps of our gallery's activity.

Stay tuned and welcome to the exhibition!

Olga Survillo .survillo (2-4)
blaxx443 (6-8, 14-16)
Galya Lutzky (4-6)
Elya May Myau (2, 16-18)
Marina Koldobskaya (8-10)

Welcome to the final exhibition of the art residency ‘Muster entwirren / Untangling Patterns’!

The artists of the project ‘Untangling Patterns’ — from different generations and cultural backgrounds — reflect on this theme in their own way. Their visual statements are attempts not only to recognise, but also to redraw the lines along which our thinking and perception move. Their artistic gestures are not only an aesthetic experience, but also an invitation to rethink how we live, feel and interact with the world.

Welcome to the final exhibition of the art residency ‘Untangling Patterns’!

We are trapped by patterns. Yet, by rethinking the matrices of perception and response to the universe’s infinite diversity that are rooted in our cultures and identities, we can make patterns our allies. Transforming them from a means of simplification into a tool for a more enriching vision and interaction with the complexity of all. Into a lens that allows us to see reality not pixilated, not as a combination of zeros and ones, but as an unbroken continuum with no boundaries in its boundless multiplicity of dimensions, and with no clear boundaries between its (non)elements within. And along the way, finding beauty, both in diversity and in patterns — in these fascinating and mysterious combinations of the archetypal and the cultural.
The exhibition concludes an artistic research project involving seven artists — a three-month residency of Mihkel Muskar Galerie at BAS CS Gallery within the framework of Kolonie Wedding.

Galya Lutzky is a Berlin-based artist with a background in science. Born in Moscow, she graduated in Mathematics and worked as a computer programmer for nearly a decade before fully devoting herself to art in the early 1990s, during the time of perestroika.

Her artistic path began with ceramics, later evolving into painting and three-dimensional objects. This progression reflects her ongoing fascination with geometry, rhythm, and the intersection between structure and intuition.

Over the past three decades, Galya Lutzky has participated in numerous group exhibitions and held more than twenty solo shows across Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Greece, Montenegro, Russia, and South Korea. Her work has been presented at the Weizmann Institute of Science (Rehovot, Israel), at the London Contemporary Art Fair (2022), and in Talis Gallery (Jerusalem).

She has also taken part in several interdisciplinary conferences on art and science, contributing exhibitions and artist talks that explore the dialogue between analytical thinking and visual expression.

Galya Lutzky 's exhibition ‘Musterfehler / Pattern Error’ at Mihkel Muskar Galerie is open 23-26 October: 16:00—21:00 and by appointment.

Galya Lutzky’s solo exhibition “Musterfehler / Pattern Error” at Mihkel Muskar Galerie.

For the series of works presented at the exhibition, Galya Lutzky chose a unique medium — she paints her works with acrylic on mirror film. This allows her to convey the moment-by-moment transformation of architectural patterns as they play with the changing light. These paintings are not a fixation of a moment with a captured glare, but fragments of a landscape that respond to a new context, to the movement of the day, to the breath of space.

A small photo recap for those who missed the event.

The exhibition is open until October 26, daily from 4 to 9 p.m.

We’ll be happy to see you at the gallery!
