Inspired by the radical philosophies of Gus Speth, Frantz Fanon, and Sylvia Wynter, this exhibition calls for a profound relational, spiritual, ecological and material transformation, showcasing how communities—historically led by women freedom fighters—re-code cultural memories to resist capitalist extraction and restore planetary solidarity. Grounded in a feminist formulation of social justice, this collaboration between Yupanqui Ramos and Milena Bonilla positions ecological care and "plant companionship" as vital modes of territorial defense. Both artists explore how humans and flora toether resists colonial control, demonstrating how intersectional care empowers human connection to the soil and activates political resistance.

The film follows female workers at a fish canning factory in northern Germany. Here, women from Turkey work alongside their East German colleagues under harsh conditions. The women talk about the hard work, their worries and the housework after their shift ends, but also about the new reality they had to come to terms with following migration or respectively the fall of the Berlin Wall. Brief moments of escape from this are found only in their own allotments, or when a colleague strikes up a song at work.

Closing event with time capsule burial (around 5:00 p.m.)

While conducting research in the collection of the German Historical Museum, Thomas Bratzke came across the time capsule exhibit Treasure Chest for the Year 2000. As it turned out, around 1989, former classmates at the 19th POS Robert-Uhrig (now the Schule am Tierpark) had created photos, letters, and drawings as part of a school project and placed them in a chest. Bratzke, who had not been involved in the time capsule at the time because his family had moved to the West, is now making up for his absence. Together with Anna-Lena Wenzel, they created the wall installation Schatzkiste Arbeit—a time capsule for the year 2050—as well as a zine. For the closing event, they will fill a custom-built treasure chest with materials and bury it in front of the project space.

Work takes place around the clock, but who keeps the machinery of capitalism running? The exhibition An die Arbeit! (get to work!) creates a visual dialogue between Susi Rogenhofer (aka Sweet Susi) and Thomas Bratzke, who collaborates with cultural scientist Anna-Lena Wenzel.

Rogenhofer’s audio-visual series united workers puts workers in the spotlight. Since 2021, she and musician Manni Montana have explored global production sites, including Berlin Lichtenberg. At the opening on Friday, June 5th, at 7:00 pm, they will present a live performance of 21st-century workers' music.

While researching at the German Historical Museum, Thomas Bratzke found a 1989 time capsule containing photos and letters from former classmates at a Lichtenberg school. Bratzke, who missed the original project after moving West, now wants to repeat the experiment. He invites former classmates and current students to collaborate on a new time capsule for 2050, exploring how the understanding of "work" has changed. Together with Anna-Lena Wenzel, he will transform the old and new materials and presents them in the exhibition. For the Finissage the new materials will be put in a capsule and be buried in the garden of after the butcher.

An accompanying film program curated will examine female and migrant labor from a historical perspective.
