KAMAROU’s Poetic Exploration of Identity

In KAMAROU’s piece, «Self-Control» a woman stands, her kimono cascading in delicate folds, a silent testament to tradition. Flanking her are two peculiar creatures—one bearing the enigmatic face of a fox, the other a fierce red mask of Tengu. They are not mere companions; they are spirits, symbols, echoes of folklore materialized in contemporary form.

The backdrop, a burst of yellow, suggests something both luminous and unsettling—like an afterimage of a dream just before waking. This is where KAMAROU thrives: at the intersection of nostalgia and modernity, history and reinvention. The figures seem almost lifted from an old photograph, their presence softened by the artist’s painterly strokes, as if time itself had begun to blur their edges. And yet, there is a crispness in the bold colors and the stylized figures of the mythical creatures, pulling us back into the present.

KAMAROU is no stranger to storytelling through imagery. His work often wrestles with the tension between cultural heritage and contemporary visual language, between the analog past and our increasingly digital present. There is something cinematic here—perhaps a nod to his background in film. The scene feels staged yet organic, a carefully composed moment that leaves us questioning its context. Is the woman leading the spirits, or are they guiding her?

In an era where identity is often a fluid construct, KAMAROU’s work reminds us that mythology is not just something we inherit—it’s something we actively engage with. We reinterpret, reshape, and, in doing so, find new ways to belong. This artwork, available at HAZEGALLERY, is not just a painting; it is an invitation into a world where past and present converse in vivid color.

Now Representing: Xiomáro – a visual historian capturing the essence of national landscapes, history, and urban life.

Xiomáro (SEE-oh-MAH-ro) is an internationally recognized photographer, curator, and writer, known for his documentation of National Parks and cultural heritage sites. Commissioned by the National Park Service, his work has been exhibited at Harvard University, the Morris Museum, and the Fraunces Tavern Museum. Through his lens, he transforms landscapes and landmarks into compelling visual narratives that bridge past and present.

His work serves as a visual archive, capturing overlooked details of historic and natural sites before they vanish. His images go beyond documentation, imbuing subjects with artistic depth and challenging viewers to engage with history. He also excels in street photography, capturing fleeting urban moments as future historical documentation, offering a contrast to his structured National Park compositions.

Beyond photography, Xiomáro is an accomplished author and educator. His book «Weir Farm National Historic Site» (Arcadia Publishing), with a foreword by Senator Joseph Lieberman, exemplifies his dedication to historical storytelling. His upcoming street photography books (2025) further cement his role as a chronicler of visual culture. His essays in «Street Photography Magazine» and «The Federalist» explore photography’s role in contemporary history and artistic innovation.

Originally trained as a musician and later working as an entertainment attorney, Xiomáro turned to photography after surviving cancer. His artistic pseudonym, meaning «ready for battle,» reflects his resilience and honors his Puerto Rican, Cuban, Spanish, and Canary Island heritage.

Exhibited across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, his work has earned recognition in «The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and «Fine Art Connoisseur». His lectures and workshops reinforce his commitment to public engagement. Based in New Jersey, he continues preserving history, nature, and urban life for future generations.

The «Composite Sketches» series, exhibited internationally, highlights his talent in sequential imagery, merging drawing and animation to dissect contemporary identities.

The Art of Perception: Magdaléna Ševčík’s Maximal Entropy VII

Magdaléna Ševčík one of the most exciting voices in young Czech abstract painting, has a remarkable ability to transform the intangible into something deeply visual. Her work invites viewers to step into the intricate and often unpredictable world of the human mind. In her painting Maximal Entropy VII,Ševčík captures the delicate dance between chaos and order, emotion and reason, memory and control.

The first thing that strikes you about Maximal Entropy VII is its fluid, cloud-like background, rendered in soft yet expressive tones of gray, white, and blue. These organic forms appear to swirl and expand, like fragments of memories or fleeting thoughts. There’s an undeniable sense of movement, as if the painting is alive and in constant flux. The colors evoke a dreamlike state, where emotions surface but remain just out of reach, like a memory you can feel but can’t quite recall.

What makes Ševčík’s work so distinctive is how she counterbalances this raw fluidity with sharp geometric shapes. In this piece, intersecting lines create triangular divisions, grounding the dreamy background with a sense of structure. These clean, precise forms bring a rational element to the work, as though the mind is trying to impose order on the chaos of perception. The result is a fascinating tension between the two—neither overpowering the other, but working in harmony to create something whole.

Pavel Golovkin: Fantastic Beasts and the Cities Series now at HAZEGALLERY.

We’re thrilled to welcome Pavel Golovkin to the HAZEGALLERY roaster. His work marks an exciting new chapter in our ongoing mission to showcase fresh and original voices in contemporary photography. As part of this collaboration, we’re proud to present his series, Fantastic Beasts and the Cities, featuring works from The Cities, soon to be exhibited in Berlin.

Golovkin, a former photojournalist, now uses his camera to blur the line between reality and imagination—transforming everyday cityscapes into surreal scenes where giant inflatable creatures drift through urban spaces. His images are striking and unconventional, touching on pressing issues like environmental decline, overconsumption, and the illusions we build in modern life.

With floating tigers, balloon-like flamingos, and weightless bears, his work stirs up a mix of emotions—nostalgia, curiosity, and a quiet sense of unease. It’s as if these creatures exist in a space between memory and an uncertain future. Influenced by mythology, cinema, and art history, Fantastic Beasts invites us to reflect on our connection to nature in a world that’s constantly changing.

At HAZEGALLERY, we’re committed to supporting artists who challenge perspectives and spark conversation. We can’t wait for you to experience Pavel’s powerful visual storytelling—his work leaves a lasting impression, long after you’ve seen it.

Throwback to “Body Alchemy” organized by HAZE.GALLERY curated .rusinovich_

Looking back at our “Body Alchemy” exhibition, we can’t help but feel grateful for the incredible energy and creativity that filled the space. In December 2023 we explored the human body through the eyes of talented artists—its beauty, its vulnerability, and its endless possibilities for transformation.

The opening night was amazing. The room buzzed with excitement as guests wandered through paintings, fine art photography, and sculptures, each piece offering a different perspective on what it means to exist in our own skin. Conversations flowed, emotions surfaced, and for a brief moment, art connected us all in a way that words never could.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the artists, and made this pop-up exhibition so unforgettable. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

What was your favorite memory from the show? Drop a comment below—we’d love to hear!

Stay tuned for more inspiring exhibitions coming soon at HAZE.GALLERY

Artist: Rachele Frison

Discover the enchanted worlds of Rachele Frison, an emerging Italian artist whose work blurs the line between reality and folklore.

Born in Milan and trained at the prestigious Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Rachele’s paintings draw from her roots in drawing, illustration, and her fascination with fairy tales. Her pieces evoke the mystery of nocturnal forests, primal rituals, and the timeless narratives shared across cultures.

In her words:
“Through my paintings, I craft individual narratives that collectively form a cohesive and overarching story. Fairy tales and legends are a universal connection, evoking memories shared across time.”

Her work is a journey into the ritualistic and dreamlike—a space where witches, water lilies, and ancient symbols come to life.

“Hidden Flames” Exhibition, 2023

Let’s take a moment to remember «Hidden Flames» one of HAZEGALLERY’s memorable group exhibitions from year 2023. Curated by Irina Rusinovich, with suppor Lyubov Melnickowa, this group show explored nudity in art in a way that was both timeless and daring.

Inspired by Michelangelo’s words:
“What spirit is so empty and blind, that it cannot recognize the fact that the foot is more noble than the shoe, and skin more beautiful than the garment with which it is clothed?”

This exhibition brought together 15 incredible artists who shared their unique perspectives on the human form. From mythology and history to bold contemporary expressions, each work showed how nudity can be a reflection of vulnerability, beauty, and creativity.

Artists included:
Ana Bathe, Ute Manoloudakis, Daniel Borg, Gilberto Giardini, Alexander Ivashkevich, Ekaterina Denisova, Sander Vos, Crow, and many others.

3D Artists
