We warmly welcome Daniel Findlay at Takt A.I.R. Berlin, an author and journalist based in Sydney, Australia.

In 2017 he published the critically acclaimed speculative fiction novel Year of the Orphan with Penguin Random House.

His current novel, which he is developing and editing as part of the TAKT artist residency program, is a work of historical and literary fiction.

The book explores themes of war, homeland and belonging and takes inspiration from family stories of immigration to Australia.

It is also inspired in part by classic European fairy tales and the intersection between history and storytelling.

Jacqueline Huskisson is a visual artist from Calgary, Alberta Canada and currently living between Calgary and Berlin, Germany. In 2011 she received a BFA in print media from the Alberta College of Art and Design (Now AU Arts.) In 2017 she received an MFA in studio arts from the Belfast School of Art in Northern Ireland. She works primarily with printmaking, painting, comics, and media arts. She considers herself a “comic” artist. Majority of her practice relies on narratives, abstract or linear. She focuses on telling narratives of the human body, illness, and the human form’s relation to its surroundings.

April Widdup is an early career multidisciplinary artist from Australia currently living and practicing in Europe. Widdup’s practice engages themes of identity, memory, and phenomenology, to examine the intersections of structural power, human agency, and experience. Their work often culminates in the form of sculptures and installation, featuring interactive, sensory, and embodied elements.
