Auf Wiedersehen... / So long...

After 5 years of a new life, running a gallery, it’s time to review. The previous exhibition was my last one, and the physical gallery is now closed. I will continue to represent the photographers I have exhibited in the past, especially those for whom I act as a European distributor. And clearly, I can satisfy interest in any of the images by all the photographers I have shown (see all under Artists on www.taunusfotogalerie.com/en).

Why am I closing? Well, I have made some fantastic friends over the past 5 years – gifted photographers and wonderful customers – but the gallery has not met with the economic success I had hoped for. I have really loved running a gallery and telling artists’ stories. And yes, starting during a pandemic was difficult, but I have not been able to attract enough visitors to the gallery to make it break even. This is not the place to go into lots of details, but I am happy to discuss them with anyone interested – see contact details on website.

I am so grateful to all who have supported this venture (maybe I should have done this 30 years ago?), and I hope to see you soon.

Rachael Talibart – Egraine

Egraine was the beautiful queen of Goloris of Cornwall and lived in Tintagel, an impregnable castle surrounded by stormy seas, on the north coast of Cornwall. Uther Pendragon became infatuated with Egraine and persuaded Merlin to transform him into the form of Goloris, allowing him to gain entry to the castle where he made passionate love to Egraine, who believed she was with her husband. The result of this union was King Arthur.
