🛍 "WHERE did you get that?!" The most common message we get from visitors after they fly home. 😅

Bring back something from Prague that actually starts a conversation.

Did you know? June 1st = International Children's Day - and it was a BIG deal in communist Czechoslovakia. 📣

It was Pioneer scarves, state-made toys, Western cartoons on smuggled VHS, and bananas once a year. See the real childhood behind the Iron Curtain. ✊

The regime had its heroes - workers on propaganda posters, miners on stamps, athletes on parade tribunes. 🏅🚩
But the real heroes weren't on the posters. They were the parents who taught their kids the truth at home, even when the school taught lies. The journalists who wrote what couldn't be printed. The students who passed banned books from hand to hand. The neighbors who didn't denounce. The workers who stayed honest. The artists who painted what they really saw. 😎

History remembers them. And so should we. 🇨🇿

Adidas? Nike? Lululemon? Forget it! 👟❌

Under communism, sportswear meant one thing: whatever you could get. And it wasn't pretty. 😆 Stretchy synthetic fabrics that pilled after one wash. Tracksuits in colors no human eye should see — mustard yellow, swimming-pool turquoise, brick brown. Sizes that "kind of" fit. Stitching that gave up after a few jogs. 👕

📍 Museum of Communism, Prague - come and see the original sportswear that defined a generation. (And be glad you didn't have to wear it.) 😅

History isn't always pretty. But it's always worth knowing. 🌑

The Museum of Communism doesn't sugarcoat. We show what life behind the Iron Curtain really looked like — the propaganda, the fear, the absurdity, the resistance. ✊

May 1st - today, a day of love and spring. ❤️🌸

Yesterday (1948–1989): mandatory parades. Workers waving flags they didn't choose. Officials watching from tribunes to make sure no one stayed home. Same date. Two completely different worlds. ✊

🎒 This wasn’t just a classroom. It was ideology. 🥴

Imagine going to school where:
• History had only one “correct” version
• Portraits of political leaders watched over you
• Questioning the system wasn’t encouraged

Education under communism wasn’t just about math and grammar. It was about shaping loyal citizens.
