Muzeum studené války

Muzeum studené války Muzeum studené války a komunistického režimu se nachází v protiatomovém krytu, v expozicích naleznete vybavení VB, armádní radiostanice a mnoho dalšího.

Pokud máte možnost nám věci darovat, zapůjčit i prodat, neváhejte nás kontaktovat. We know we haven't posted in a long time, but our museum has been quite busy recently. However, we promise to post more regularly from now on.

In today's post, we would like to share a 80th commemoration of an event that played a significant role in the history of our museum.

On Friday, February 14, the city of Prague remembered a tragic and unfortunate event. On February 14, 1945, Prague witnessed an Allied air raid, which resulted from a navigational error by the USAAF. The intended target was Dresden, which was bombed between February 13 and 15.

The most heavily affected areas included Nové město (including the original building on Wenceslas Square, where Hotel Jalta and our Museum stands today), Vinohrady, Smíchov and others.

Dear Visitors!
Despite our previous announcement, we are able to be open today (November 4th) at least for two tours: at 11:00 and 13:00!
For reservations visit our website:

Our group was founded in 2013 as The "Czechoslovak Armed Forces Association" and is interested in history of the armed forces in Czechoslovakia from 1945 to 1993. Our goal is to show the public various aspects of history as part of an interactive tour.

Dear Visitors!
Regarding our opening hours in November, unfortunately we will be closed on the following days: November 4th, 6th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th and 26th.
If anything would change on those days, we will update you.
Thank you for your understanding!

Dear visitors!
The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute forecasts that in the following days, Prague may experience heavy rain accompanied with strong winds (according to the forecast it may reach a speed up to 100km/h). According to the institute, there is a likely chance of flooding which may cause various infrastructural damages (power, transportation breakdown etc.). The flood alert with high probability is declared by the Institute from today (12.9.) until further notice (however the situation is expected to last for about 4-5 days).
We do not really know how the situation will develop. For now, we are planning to be open, however the situation can change unexpectedly and we may be forced to shut down the Museum.
We apologise for this inconvenience, however this is something we cannot really control, so our best course of action right now is to stick to the original plan and see how the situation develops.
We just wanted to warn you that the situation might develop in a way, when we would be forced to close the Museum unexpectedly.

We will uptade you if we would be forced to close down the Museum
Kind regards and stay safe

Today, we once again commemorate one of the more sad anniversaries in Czech and Slovak history which would be the invasion of Warsaw Pact armies into Czechoslovakia.

Dear friends of our Museum!
After a brief period of break, we would like to share with you some historical events again. Yesterday (21st of June), marked two important events in Czechoslovak history.
1) On 21st of June 1968 started the military exercise of the Warsaw pact known as Šumava which effectively foreshadowed invasion into Czechoslovakia. The military exercise was supposed to demonstrate dissatisfaction of other members of Warsaw pact with events unfolding in Czechoslovakia and ultimately served as a warning to the Politbyro of KSČ (Communist party of Czechoslovakia) to stop the Prague spring reforms. 2) 21st of June 1991: last Soviet troops left Czechoslovakia after 23 year of occupation

Dear Visitors!
Today, we were forced to close our Museum early. The reason behind this was that there was an ongoing police operation on Wenceslas Square which resulted in evacuation of half of the Square. The reason behind the police operation was that on the Square was found suspicious material which was suspected to be an explosive. By now, the police investigation is over and traffic on the Squared resumed to normal. However, since our employees were evacuated, our decision to keep the Museum closed remained.
We apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused you
