En esta serie de grabados busco representar la sombra, un concepto esencial en la psicología profunda de Carl Jung. La sombra simboliza aquello de nosotros que permanece oculto o reprimido en el inconsciente, en contraste con el yo consciente: la parte que mostramos al mundo. En mi obra, una mano frente a un espejo fragmentado se convierte en el eje simbólico. La mano, con la que creo y doy forma al arte, representa también el acto de explorar y reconstruir. Los lados oscuro y blanco reflejan la dualidad entre lo consciente y lo inconsciente, mientras que las grietas del espejo evocan el tiempo, las vivencias y las marcas que moldean nuestra identidad.Esta composición busca generar un diálogo entre luz y sombra, entre creación y autoconocimiento, invitando a reflexionar sobre la necesidad de integrar todos nuestros fragmentos para comprendernos plenamente.
In this series of engravings, I seek to represent the shadow, a central concept in Carl Jung’s depth psychology. The shadow embodies those aspects of ourselves that remain hidden or repressed in the unconscious, in contrast to the conscious self — the part we show to the world.In my work, a hand before a fragmented mirror becomes the symbolic core. The hand, through which I create and give shape to art, also represents the act of exploring and reconstructing. The dark and white sides reflect the duality between the conscious and the unconscious, while the cracks in the mirror evoke time, experiences, and the traces that shape our identity.This composition invites a dialogue between light and shadow, creation and self-knowledge — a reflection on the need to embrace all our fragments in order to truly understand ourselves.
