Chuancais Museum (Sichuan Cuisine Museum) lies in the ancient town of Pixian county, a town with the history of 3000 years in west of Chengdu, an important town of commerce and trade along the South Silk Road. As a National AAA level Scenic Spot, it is the only dynamic museum in the world displaying the Sichuan Culinary Culture. It displays the important parts of Sichuan local culture like Sichuan
cuisine, Sichuan wine, Sichuan opera, Sichuan tea, Sichuan architecture, Sichuan gardens and so on, which makes it unique and distinctive from other museums. There are about 6000 collections on Sichuan culinary culture. Our museum is built in western Old Sichuan architecture style. Our museum enjoys rich tourism resources, including ethnic culture and its carrier, historic sites and buildings, cultural tourism, leisure and recreation and knowledge. It includes Classic Collection hall, Kitchen God Ancestral Hall, Raw Material and Processing Tools Display Areas and Interactive Demonstration hall. Tourism activities include: 1. Appreciate antiques: tourists can appreciate the antiques of Sichuan Cuisine in Classic Collection Hall; 2. Interactive activities in Interactive Hall: Tourists can watch the chef cooking, taste authentic Sichuan food and experience cooking.3. Sip tea in tea house: tourists can drink tea and experience our tea culture in our tea house.4.worship the kitchen god: worship kitchen god on Chengdu International Food & Tour Festival and 23rd of the twelfth lunar month( including Nuo opera, lion dance, percussion performance, worship with ancient costume, burn joss sticks piously and rob offerings) 5. Show traditional making methods in raw material display area (brewing Pixian chilly bean paste, making pickled vegetable, glutinous rice dumpling, preserved eggs and moon-cakes.)
