Check the first scene of the performance”In the Wilderness” by artist Beio tomorrow 17:00 at Long March Independent Space.

Tedious even repetitive metropolitan work and life have alienated the spirit from the body, and further downgraded the body into flesh. Inspired by the novel “No Longer Human”by Japanese author Osamu Dazai, the first scene of “In the Wilderness” by artist Beio discusses how a modern man gets obsessed with the body, disciplines the body and ultimately disengages from the body.

During the current exhibition, "Chen Chieh-jen: Detoxify Illusion with Māyā", we will run a series workshops moderated by Chen Chieh-jen. Professor Huang Sun-chuan, the director of the Institute of Network Society, China Academy of Art, will share on the topic "Dream Machine and Lab Rats” in the first workshop next Tuesday(September 26).

In this workshop, Huang Sun-chuan will share reflections and seek out what meaningful critique and practice could be like within the corporatocracy. How do we step into the "future script" set by the corporatocracy? How many other possibilities are excluded from this “future script”? How many different paths can be mutually clarified, supplemented, and discussed, so as to create a balanced power in confrontation with the "future script" set by the corporatocracy?
