Did this little painting today because even on vacation I want to paint. I was inspired by the many weddings I’ve seen I over the years on the bay and on Alki Beach. Love conquers all.

Another addition to my portrait series

The Golden One

I always wondered how Klimt felt about his subjects. Did he know that youth and beauty was ephemeral and capturing it was a kind of alchemy? His women captured in a moment from which there was no return.
I am reminded a line of the Joni Mitchell song “Sweet Bird “

“I lay down golden
And woke up vanishing”…
