Das HEK (Haus der elektronischen Künste) ist das Schweizer Kompetenzzentrum, das sich mit allen Kunstformen befasst, die sich durch neue Technologien und Medien ausdrücken und sie reflektieren. Mit seiner interdisziplinären Ausrichtung ermöglicht das HEK einer breiten Öffentlichkeit Einblicke in Kunstproduktionen unterschiedlicher Gattungen in der Auseinandersetzung von Kunst, Medien und Technolog

ie. In einem vielfältigen Programm aus Ausstellungen, kleineren Festivalformaten, Performances und Konzerten widmet sich das HEK ästhetischen Entwicklungen. Neben der Veranstaltungs- und Ausstellungstätigkeit beschäftigt sich das HEK mit der Sammlungsmethodik und dem Erhalt digitaler Kunst. Join us online for the virtual opening of 404_LAND, the first exhibition of the Tezos Foundation × HEK partnership.

Curators Auronda Scalera () and Alfredo Cramerotti () will guide audiences through the platform and introduce the featured works. Moderated by Isabella Maund ().

Currently on view at HEK: «New Rituals [for the End of the World]»

The exhibition looks at new rituals as ways of responding to crisis, uncertainty and the feeling of living through unstable times.

Through artistic positions from different contexts, «New Rituals [for the End of the World]» asks how collective gestures, speculative practices and new forms of attention can help us face the present.

Reminder: Stefanie Egedy — «Sonic Energetics»
Sound as somatic grounding. Sound as presence. Sound as a shift in perception.

As an audible extension of «New Rituals [for the End of the World]», Stefanie Egedy uses low frequencies between 30 and 40 hertz — wavelengths that travel through space, objects, tissue, and bone.

Here, the subwoofer is no longer a supporting device, but becomes the instrument itself.

Artist focus: Kat Zhang / the Poet Engineer .poet.engineer

For 404_LAND, Kat Zhang / the Poet Engineer presents «Hypomnemata: Forgetting as Invention».

Hypomnemata were ancient Greek notebooks: not diaries, but fragments worth holding onto.
Using a Hopfield network, the work hands this practice to a machine. Memory becomes an energy landscape, and recall is not retrieval, but reconstruction.

As memories decay, new unreadable glyphs appear from the ruins of the old. Forgetting becomes a way of inventing.

Artist focus: Alida Sun

With «The world isn’t ending / Their world is ending», Alida Sun presents a generative digital artwork on crisis, perception and ecological instability.

The title draws a sharp distinction: the world may continue, while specific worlds — social, ecological, cultural, emotional or political — are constantly ending for those who inhabit them.

Hand-coded in C++ on secondhand hardware, the work becomes a living structure of resistance, adaptation and collective imagination.
