SOMA is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Salavatore Emblema, bringing together a selection of works produced between 1960 and 1980.

We are pleased to announce May 1972, an exhibition dedicated to Salvatore Emblema (Naples, 1929–2006), which will open on March 10 2026.

The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Museo Emblema in Naples under the curatorial direction of Emanuele Leone Emblema and Mighela Lorenceau. The exhibition focuses on a decisive period in which Emblema defined the conceptual and material framework of his practice.
During this period, Emblema lived and worked on his estate at the foot of Mount Vesuvius,
deliberately removed from the main artistic capitals. This geographic distance did not imply disengagement. On the contrary, it enabled a sustained and critical assimilation of the aesthetic shifts of postwar art, free from the pressures of stylistic alignment. Emblema stood beside the movement of his time, close enough to absorb their revolutions, distant enough to recompose them into a calm,
coherent and deeply meditative visual system. From this position of proximity without adherence emerged a singular artistic language.

The opening of May 1972 will be taking place on Wednesday 11th of March from 6 to 8pm at SOMA, 32 rue de l’Avenir.

SOMA is pleased to present Solids for Voices, a joint project by Ensemble Vide and KorSonoR, featuring a collaboration between Valby Vokalgruppe and Francis Baudevin.

Valby Vokalgruppe translates geometric figures into vocal rhythms that, through repetition, unfold into trance-like patterns, balancing intuition and structure.
Considering the group’s fascination with geometric forms, Ensemble Vide and Arta Sperto / KorSonoR invited Francis Baudevin to create a visual counterpart. Drawing from his own repertoire of motifs, he composed patterns of circles — like notes — arranged in squares and rings, in positive and negative, projected into the space through a gobo system.

An encounter where sound and form resonate as one.

Solids for Voices — album by Valby Vokalgruppe (Hands in The Dark Records)
Poptones — monograph by Francis Baudevin (jrp/editions / KBCB).

As part of the Biennale du Son, SOMA is pleased to present a project by x KorSonor, a collaborative performance by Valby Vokalgruppe and Francis Baudevin.

« Valby Vokalgruppe translates geometric figures - such as Platonic solids - into vocal rhythms that, through repetition, evolve into trance-like patterns, balancing intuition and structural rigor. In resonance, Francis Baudevin, a figure of the neo-geo movement, revisits geometric motifs and their connection to music. For Solids for Voices, he projects forms from his pictorial repertoire using a gobo system. » Ensemble Vide x KorSonor
