Its furnishings, some of them original, recapture the style and use of the rooms when John Inkster and his family lived here. Seven Oaks takes its name from a nearby creek where seven large oak trees once stood, marking the site of the Battle of Seven Oaks fought in 1816. Call or e-mail for more information.

Happy Museum Day!๐Ÿ›๏ธ

We are proud to be stewards of two historic homes which were saved through becoming museums. Both Seven Oaks House and Ross House couldnโ€™t exist today without the community, civic, and provincial efforts to restore, preserve, and operate the oldest homes in Winnipeg as museums๐Ÿก

Learn more about the stories of how each house became a museum on our website under โ€œHistoryโ€๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿ“–

Although we are closed on Mondays, there are over 40 museums in Manitoba! Visit one today, and we hope to see you at Seven Oaks and Ross House soon!
