This fall, AWE was honoured , alongside our friends at , to be awarded the .council York Wilson Endowment Award. This award supports the acquisition of original works by living Canadian artists, and has allowed AWE the chance to enrich its collection by purchasing "Chanting Grotto" by Bev Pike (pictured).

You may remember this piece from Bev Pike's arresting exhibition at Art Windsor-Essex in 2024-2025 "Grottesque: Spectacles of Miniature & Gigantic."

Catch "Sameer Farooq: The Fairest Order in the World" before it closes next week!⭐

Cape Breton born, Toronto based artist Sameer Farooq presents a solo exhibition that offers a deeply poetic space to reflect on the fraught and violent histories of art and anthropological museums, their colonial origins, structures, and impulses.

With The Fairest Order in the World, Farooq probes notions of provenance, repatriation, and repair, composing a series of new and recent sculptures and images to articulate unique ideas for repurposing the emptied spaces of museums devoid of their spoils.
