🚨 We are aware of scam accounts acting as ticket holders and falsely offering tickets for re-sale. While we continue to monitor our pages, we remind our followers to please not purchase tickets from anyone other than the Museum. 🚨

The Museum is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm today, and the newest temporary exhibit presented by the Legacy of Hope Foundation and the Department of Canadian Heritage, "Killing the Indian in the Child: Generations Lost", is now open until June 28, 2025.

We invite you to come and see the exhibit, but please be aware that this exhibit contains difficult subject matter that may be disturbing to some.

From October 12, 2024 to June 28, 2025, the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum and Community Centre will be hosting "Killing the Indian in the Child: Generations Lost".

This exhibit is presented by the Legacy of Hope Foundation and the Department of Canadian Heritage, and describes the impact of the residential school system on Indigenous children and their families.

Please note, this exhibition contains difficult subject matter that may be disturbing to some.

🏑 Our Historic buildings will be open and decorated for the holiday festivities

We had so much fun at the Bogarttown Schoolhouse re-opening event, and are glad to have it's doors open to the public once more!

πŸŽπŸ“š If you weren't able to make it to the opening, the Museum is open Wednesday - Saturday, 10:00am to 4:00pm and admission is FREE! Stop by to see the newly restored school, and view the rural schoolhouses exhibit! 🏫

The wait is almost over! Tomorrow is the re-opening of the restored Bogarttown Schoolhouse!

We are so excited to unveil the Bogarttown Schoolhouse tomorrow, Saturday September 21st!

The re-opening will take place from 11:00am to 12:00pm, with remarks, a ribbon cutting, and followed by light refreshments. Don’t worry if you can’t make it at that time, as the school will be open until 4:00pm.

There are 2 days until the re-opening of the restored Bogarttown Schoolhouse!

Did you know that the Bogarttown Schoolhouse is a designated heritage building? Designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, this building, along with others on the Museum grounds, has been designated for its cultural heritage value. The restoration project has allowed us to truly showcase this significant building.

There are 3 days until the re-opening of the restored Bogarttown Schoolhouse!

Did you know that the Bogarttown Schoolhouse wasn’t exclusively used as a school? It also served the community as a gathering place and hosted Sunday School classes, Community Club activities, and Red Cross and 4H Meetings. It later served the community again as part of the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum, where it continues to be a place of learning.
