Han Modern and Contemporary

Han Modern and Contemporary Han Modern and Contemporary specializes in modern and contemporary Canadian art.

Han Modern & Contemporary proudly specializes in Canadian art, with an analogous focus on European and Chinese modern and contemporary art movements. Following in the legacy of Han Art Gallery, which was initiated by the late art dealer and prominent artist Andrew Lui in 1995 and managed by Chloe Ng, we have been a team of reputable gallerists in Canadian and international art markets for over thr

ee decades. Throughout the years, this unique gallery has placed an emphasis on refined aesthetics and innovative daring, which both incorporate and exceed Canadian boundaries. Nestled by the picturesque Greene Avenue in Westmount, Han Modern & Contemporary especially promotes and celebrates the distinct individuality of a range of historical, mid-career, and emerging artists native to Canada, Europe and beyond. Many of our represented artists have been exhibited in established art institutions, and many have additionally had their work acquired by Canadian and international museum collections. At the heart of Han Modern & Contemporary’s numerous exhibitions, which unfold either in our own gallery space, other private galleries, fairs (Art Toronto, Palm Beach Modern and Contemporary, etc.), and art institutions, we curate acclaimed exhibitions that span the figurative and the conceptual. These exhibitions interweave fine art landscapes (such as Dorothy Knowles, Alex Cameron, Gregory Hardy, Graham Fowler), hyperrealism and realism (Luciano Ventrone, Tong Luo), Color Field artists (William Perehudoff, Paul Fournier), bold painterly, expressive abstractions (Kittie Bruneau, Andrew Lui), contemporary portraiture (Louis Boudreault) and ethereal bronze sculptures (Anne-Sophie Morelle).
