Announcing the upcoming Artist Talk by Jeff Wall, who will speak about his current exhibition ๐˜๐˜ฏ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ. โ

Jeff Wall was born in 1946 in Vancouver, where he lives and works. His photographs have been exhibited worldwide over the past 40 years. His works often depict events the artist has witnessed and reconstructed in a process he calls โ€œcinematographyโ€. His subject matter ranges from everyday occurrences photographed in real places to imaginary situations constructed in a studio. โ 
He is considered to be one of the artists who, since the 1970s, has led the way in emphasizing the affinities between photography, painting, and cinema. โ

We're celebrating World Photography Day with our current exhibition, ๐˜‘๐˜ฆ๐˜ง๐˜ง ๐˜ž๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ: ๐˜๐˜ฏ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ, which is on view until October 3, 2026.โ

๐˜๐˜ฏ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ presents a selection of the artistโ€™s work over the past 30 years, with the emphasis on photographs made in the past decade and not previously seen in Vancouver. โ 
Wall has stated that, from the outset, he wanted to have the same artistic freedom as painters, poets, or composers, the freedom to find what he calls โ€œstarting pointsโ€œ anywhereโ€”in things he witnessed, heard about, read about, or imagined. โ 
The pictures invite both contemplation and discussion, blending composition and artifice with the complex character of the different subjectsโ€”the approach that Wall has elaborated over his almost five-decade long career.โ
