A person’s career evolves over time. I started out years ago as a wildlife artist...last name was Swift, thus the ‘Swiftfox’ studio handle. Now I am a Thiessen, and very seldom paint wildlife. I was once a very private studio artist. Now I’m on platforms and in front of groups of people, painting live. Each step prepared me for the next step. It’s a wonderful thing to realize after a few years, not to begrudge small beginnings...or small venues even now! They all play a part in one’s growth. So, I find myself claiming the title of Performance Painter with a feeling of joy and excitement! It’s been years of many experiences getting here, and I love looking back to see how it’s shaped what I get to do now!
