FUN FACT

Ⓜ️ The Wadena and District Museum is the largest museum site in Saskatchewan for the town’s population.
🏦 It holds agriculture, blacksmithing, household, school, transportation, and gospel artefacts all on the same site.
⏳ It has buildings dating back to 1897, 1904, 1907, 1916 and 1955 plus original 1914 buildings on their original site.

IT'S PARADE DAY!

Richard Ueland, and
Dwayne Elphinstone pulling up the rear in the Massey Fergusson 550,
plus Mark Willems, who stood in as the standby driver.

FUN FACT

REO Speed Wagon

🛻 REO stands for the initials of its founder, Ransom Eli Olds of Michigan, who founded the company in 1915 after leaving Oldsmobile.
💪 The L-110 series 'light duty" truck was an entirely separate line built by International Harvester from 1950-52 with a 220-cu-in Silver Diamond 90hp inline six engine.
🎸 Incidentally, REO Speedwagon, the rock band, took its name from the former's 1915 REO truck model.

It's Wadena's Town & Country Fair Week!

🛁 The vintage tractors all had a spa day this week as we prepare for the parade starting at 10:30 am Saturday on Main Street.
🚩 Just a few last-minute decorations to hang ... and batteries to check.
🥞 And don't forget to have pancakes first at Wadena Community Legion Hall starting at 7:30 am (before you collect all that 🍬🍬)

We appreciate the support in continuing to develop a local attraction that honours our settlers and makes you proud of our community.

Wadena Co-op Gas Bar Manager, Travis Wdowach and Team Member, Aimee Frisko presented a cheque to Wadena & District Museum members Lorraine Sobchyshyn and Alison Squires in the amount of $1980.45 from the barbeque proceeds on August 21, 2026.
