The Uxbridge Historical Centre offers several different guided tours of buildings and exhibitions, education programs, children's camps, heritage workshops, and special events. The site and buildings are also available for rental and are perfect for weddings, picnics, reunions, parties, and other special events. Believe it or not, Elgin Pond is actually a manmade lake. It was made in 1828, by J.P. Plank as a means to power the new sawmill that he had built. The pond was originally called Park Pond, a name that it kept until 1873, when Elgin Park was created. The pond has also gone by Mill Pond due to the number of different mills that have been built on its banks. The pond has been a fishing spot for the people of Uxbridge for almost 200 years. For a number of decades it was also a popular swimming area before the construction of indoor pools.

👻Get excited! Spooky season is back and that means FRIGHT Nite at the museum is approaching!👻

This year FRIGHT will be a series of 4 tours, followed by a spooky craft! Each tour will begin at the top of the hour, and they will be filled with mini ghost tales, spooks, laughs, and trick or treating! Be sure to sign up for your spot in advance as space is limited! You can buy your tickets to FRIGHT at uxbridgehistoricalcentre.com or through the link in our bio!

🦃🍂 It's already October and that means Thanksgiving is around the corner. The Uxbridge Historical Centre will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday - Monday, October 12, 2026 for the holiday but we will reopen on Tuesday, October 13 with our normal hours.

Today we honour and remember the victims, survivors, and all of those who were touched by the Canadian residential school system.

The Township of Uxbridge is situated on the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Anishinaabe people. We acknowledge that these lands are covered under the Williams Treaties and are home to many Indigenous communities. We honour, recognize, and respect this nation and Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which we now live, work and play.

St. Andrew's Chalmers Presbyterian Church has a rich history that dates back to its establishment in 1861. Initially, services were held at the Methodist Church on First Avenue. In 1866, the congregation joined forces with the Leaskdale congregation, leading to the construction of a new Gothic-style church in 1869. The church was officially opened on February 1, 1885. The church building was painted white to harmonize with the new hall, which was officially opened and dedicated on January 3, 1965. The church has remained an integral part of the Uxbridge community, providing a place of worship and fellowship for generations.
