The evolution of a study piece I started when I began to tattoo. I did not make this design, it has served as a great learning resource, however. I've only been lining and doing solid colour fill on other people to date. As this is my first shot at mixing my own ink and blending colour on my own forearm, I feel like what on earth have I been waiting for 😅 it was so much fun. I'm having a fantastic time working on broadening my skills.

I've gotten comfortable with lining and solid colour fill, trying this was exciting. I tried shading with a mag and I'm proud of the progress - my first try with a grey wash as well:) trusting the process and my intuition. I stiple shaded the eye with a 3rl, I liked the texture that creates so I left a lot of negative space to stiple in deeper contrast after it heals. .practicing this style gets me closer to tattooing all the sketches in my mind 😁

I charge a flat rate of $120 per hour as a novice tattooist, and a deposit of $200 - in which $100 goes toward the total cost of your completed tattoo hours and $100 is my design fee. I've tinkered with these numbers a bit here and there trying to stay relative to the competitive market and by my estimation it is fair.
