National Air Force Museum of Canada

National Air Force Museum of Canada Established in 1984, the NAFMC is dedicated to sharing Canada's air force history. Behold the strength of the workhorse of military flying, the Hercules CC-130.
(325)

Marvel at the fragility of the Burgess Dunne, Canada’s first military aircraft. Over 35 aircraft on-site provide guests with an up close and personal “flying machine” experience, the crowning glory being the fully restored, Second World War, Halifax bomber. The Museum Restoration Shop offers a behind scenes view of the rebuilding process – taking vintage aircraft from mess to masterpiece. However,

it’s the stories of Canadian air force personnel that are the real treasures of the Museum. Meet the ingenious POW aircrews who plotted the Great Escape; the gold medal winning, underdogs of the RCAF Flyers hockey team; or the men and women, both civilian and military, that combined to create the massive, hugely successful British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. Located on the north side of 8 Wing/CFB Trenton.

Hundreds of young aviators earned their wings this past Family Day during our Be an Aviator program. From start to finish, participants had a blast tackling hands-on challenges inspired by RCAF training and discovering what it takes to become an aviator. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us!

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible Museum volunteers—this day wouldn’t have been possible without your energy and dedication. And special thanks to Boston Pizza (Trenton) for generously donating lunch for our hardworking team!

---
Couldn’t make it on Family Day? Earn your wings during March Break with self-directed Be an Aviator activities available throughout the Museum.

We can’t wait to welcome the next generation of aviators back through our doors!

Open all of March Break – Monday March 16th to Sunday March 22nd from 10am to 5pm (last admission at 4:30pm).
