Matting can make a huge impact on the overall tone and feel of a piece. The original matting for this piece was beautiful in a darker, moody way, but our client wanted to refresh it and give the piece a brighter look. We swapped it out for a double mat in ivory silk and a muted blue, keeping the original third base mat because the subtle texture was a great compliment to the piece and the new design.

Sometimes it’s not the art within the frame that needs restoration - it’s the frame itself! This piece came to us after it had been mishandled in shipping. There were many losses along the beading details, and the corners were missing large sculpted elements as well as structurally gapping. Swipe through to see what we needed to tackle,

Our expert team approached the damages with the materials and strategy that suited each unique loss, and painstakingly reattached, recreated, and restored each section. The result? This frame is back to its former beauty, and it along with this gorgeous painting are ready to be hung at home
