ABOUT THE SHOW
“Ancient History” brings together images and sculptures that span Roman amphitheatres, glaciation, Aztec temples, family heirlooms, natural disasters, and dream-built monuments. Humans leave traces - deliberately or accidentally - across geological and cultural time. “Ancient History” echoes relics and artefacts, from a concrete-sealed jewellery box that becomes a future family burden to a heart repaired and wrapped in deerskin.

Together, the artists consider endurance, change, and the deep interconnectedness between humans and the natural world.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the opening of “This Is Me,” our members-only self-portrait exhibit, on Thursday evening. Your energy, warmth, and appreciation made it an unforgettable night celebrating the immense talent in our community.

DARE brings together nine artists working across a wide range of media, styles, and subject matter. The title takes on a different meaning for each artist. For some, the work explores subjects that invite viewers to look again or consider a different perspective. For others, the challenge is more personal: trying an unfamiliar material, experimenting with a new technique, or moving beyond a familiar way of working. Creating art always involves some uncertainty and a willingness to take chances. DARE celebrates that spirit of curiosity and experimentation, and the discoveries—large and small—that can come from trying something different.
