ABOUT THE SHOW
“This new series showcases one year of work from my month in France, including a two week residency in France at Chateux Orquevaux, and time spent visiting Monet’s gardens at Giverny.

This intensive experience allowed me to paint what I saw and felt in the rolling hills, ponds and seductive views of the countryside.

Trusting my process and enjoying everyday French life allowed me to develop these luscious landscapes, as an open expression of my feelings of France.”

Thank you so much to everyone who made Saturday’s reception so memorable, featuring the extraordinary work of Anthony Ranieri ()! 🌟

✨ It was wonderful celebrating his captivating collection with everyone.

We experience much of this world’s beauty in the brightness of day, however there is also beauty in the world at night. A place, a view, or scenery can be seen as beautiful and awe-inspiring in one light, then plain and drab in another. Whether it’s moonlight, starlight, the auroras, or any combination of them, there is something to be discovered and enchanted by the natural light in darkness.

If you missed the opening, there is still plenty of time to experience these stunning pieces in person!

ABOUT
“The NTGA – This Is Us” celebrates the North Toronto Group of Artists and its contribution to our neighbourhood. We are a hyper-local collective, with members living within blocks of one another. Our artists differ in age, heritage, education, past careers, experience, and artistic practice. Each brings a distinct way of seeing the world. These perspectives shape how we interpret what surrounds us. Together, we create a varied portrait of our community. Although our work takes many forms, it shares a strong sense of connection. The collection has cohesion and harmony, much like the neighbourhood we call home.

🎨 Participating Artists:
Alan Maguire, Alex Grunwald, Andrew Wang, Angela Kuipers Lane, Jacquelyn Sloane Siklos, Jazmine Tara Miller, Joan McGivney, Joanne Cai, Kate Taylor, Leslie Rowland, Lisa Allshire, Lisa Litowitz, Lorena Dew, Lori Ryerson, Melissa Morrow, Rosalie Sharp, Sara Kazemi, Shailyn Bruining, Sheila Merer, and Victoria Broytman.

ABOUT THE SHOW
“Ancient History” brings together images and sculptures that span Roman amphitheatres, glaciation, Aztec temples, family heirlooms, natural disasters, and dream-built monuments. Humans leave traces - deliberately or accidentally - across geological and cultural time. “Ancient History” echoes relics and artefacts, from a concrete-sealed jewellery box that becomes a future family burden to a heart repaired and wrapped in deerskin.

Together, the artists consider endurance, change, and the deep interconnectedness between humans and the natural world.
