Today I received an envelope of newspaper pages and 4 original B&W photos of the Sunderland Fire in 1949. I did HQ scans of the photos and updated the Walking Tour article. I scanned the Globe & Mail page. All on the site now. There are several other newspapers to do but it is time consuming. Here is the article.
Thanks Ron

I’m so pleased that people are enjoying the new Sunderland Museum website. Thank you to everyone who has visited, shared it, and offered such positive feedback.

One of the website’s features is the Historical Walking Tour of Sunderland, and I’m looking for your help.

We need current photographs of many of the buildings and landmarks featured in the tour, particularly local businesses. The ideal photo is taken when there are no vehicles parked in front, with even, overcast lighting or soft light that avoids harsh shadows.

If you have photographs that might be suitable, I’d love to hear from you. I’m happy to credit photographers whose images are used.

Please contact me through the Sunderland Museum website. Your message will come directly to me, and I’ll reply with instructions on how to upload your photos.

Thank you for helping us preserve and share Sunderland’s history.
