Tonight, I allowed myself to just sit down and paint—without any expectations of myself. Simply to play around, try some different brushes, and see what happened. I wasn't afraid to "waste art supplies," just grateful for the time to shut my brain down for the day and allow myself to relax.

Many who know me know that I was once a perfectionist and had a really hard time letting go. Sometimes, I still do.

My art practice has been so good for my self-care and mental well-being; it's truly remarkable. Giving myself grace and being kind to myself isn't always the easiest thing to do because I hold myself to very high standards and expectations.

Tonight, as I was painting, I couldn't help but think about how far I've come with my art practice and how vulnerable I've been in sharing my work with you all. I've posted pieces that I don't always feel good about, but your words of encouragement have truly helped me along the way.

For that, I am forever grateful. ❤️
