STABLE TO SEA AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

The show has settled in beautifully, and the gallery has that cozy fall buzz with visitors wandering through, new favourites being discovered, and plenty of handmade treasures still waiting to be claimed. If you haven’t stopped by yet (or want another look), this is the perfect time.

Four artists who first met at the stable have filled the space with character: nature‑inspired paintings, playful animal pieces, woodwork, sculpture, seasonal crafts, charcuterie boards, wall‑mounted whales, and all kinds of creative surprises. It’s a joyful mix from stable to sea and everything in between.

How lucky are we to have Norah Brown and the Gallery Team. 🍂✨

Each week, Norah steps into the ArtSea Gallery at Tulista Park to capture our exhibitions through her lens, helping us share the beauty of local arts with our wider community. Volunteers are the backbone of any community organization, and this Thanksgiving, we are especially grateful for Norah and all of the Gallery Team who give their time so generously.

A little about Norah:
“My first husband gifted me a Pentax camera; I was using his too often. When our children arrived, I became the one behind the camera, capturing fun, growth, new experiences and everything in between. I bought a new camera whenever I travelled, and now I have scrapbooks loaded with photos and memories. The opportunity with ArtSea came because I’m always camera‑ready, even with my phone, and I was asked to volunteer my camera experience. I said "yes!’”

Norah, thank you for saying yes and for helping us see the gallery, and our community, through your eyes.

ArtSea Community Arts Council is pleased to welcome Daniel Gutierrez as our new Program Director.

Daniel brings strong leadership, creativity, and community-focused experience to ArtSea. In his new role, he will help lead our programs, strengthen community partnerships, support our artists and volunteers, and work with the Board to advance ArtSea’s vision for arts and culture across the Saanich Peninsula

Daniel says: I am incredibly excited to join ArtSea as Program Director and to become part of such a passionate group of directors, members, artists, volunteers, and community partners

I am looking forward to supporting the incredible work already happening at ArtSea while also exploring new initiatives, programs, partnerships, and opportunities that help strengthen our local arts community. I am especially excited to work alongside the talented artists and organizations that make the Saanich Peninsula such a creative and vibrant place.

I feel very fortunate to be joining ArtSea at this stage of its journey, and I am excited for what we will accomplish.

Deep Cove Weavers & Spinners

The Gallery is alive with colour and texture this week. The Deep Cove Weavers and Spinners Guild, now in their 55th year, has filled the space with an inspiring mix of weaving, spinning, felting, dyeing, basketry, and fibre‑based works. This long‑standing guild continues to champion fibre arts in all forms, encouraging creativity, skill‑building, and community connection.

With decades of shared knowledge and a wide range of fibre techniques on display, this exhibition is a wonderful chance to explore the artistry happening right here in our community. There’s still time to stop by, meet guild members, and experience the work up close.
