Shubenacadie Tinsmith Museum and Craft Shop

Shubenacadie Tinsmith Museum and Craft Shop Built in 1896, the original building structure housed the Tin Shop as well as the family home of Watson and Jeanetta Smith.

In 1902 and 1922 additions were added and to this day remains the fully intact Tin Shop, Hardware Store and Residence.

Where did the Summer go? Today is our last day for the 2026 season. We want to thank each and every one of you who came to visit, left a donation, dropped by for the tea, and supported our local craftspeople in our gift shop. The museum and gift shop will be open today from 10am to 5pm.

Looking for something to do today? Visit the Museum and Craft Shop, take a walk on the sidewalk in Shubie, maybe do the MacInnis trail and Rex McCoul park where you can view the memorial benches. Stop by the playground in the ball park. Check out the famous Shubencadie River. Stop in and visit Violet Rose Gift & Thrift Shop find something fabulous and support and amazing cause. Forgot sunscreen? The Shubenacadie Guardian can help you out. We have a Royal Bank with bank machines, Ettingers Home Hardware Ltd has amazing staff that will help you find what you are looking for. Need an Ice Cream? Martin's Rite Stop will fix you up. Hungry? We have East Hants Pizza and Papa K's to choose from. is an awesome place to stop in and find that special thing.
