Shoal Lake Mounted Police Museum

Shoal Lake Mounted Police Museum *is a replica of the original North West Mounted Police barracks, built at the south end of Shoal La It also houses the tourist information.

Shoal Lake is the home to one of the longest servicing police detachments in Canada and hosts Manitoba's official museum honoring the North West Mounted Police. Built in 1984 in Lakeview Park, the museum is a replica of the NWMP barracks established at the south end of Shoal Lake in 1875.

Summer Employment: Museum Attendant for Shoal Lake Mounted Police Museum. Self-motivated student age 16-24, eight weeks from June 30th – August 22nd 2026; 40 hours a week $16/hour, 9-5pm, Wednesday-Sunday. Must be returning to high school or post-secondary education in the fall.
