My Story

I have been drawing all my life. I remember being a toddler and drawing on my furniture. In school I was always doodling on every paper I owned. When I was eight years old I had to do a book report and one of the questions was “make a character sketch.” Although this actually meant to write down characteristics of a character I misinterpreted it and drew one of the characters instead. After my classmates were amazed at my cartoon drawing I felt like I was good at something. My mother took me to the library often as a child where I would take out books on how to draw cartoons. As I got closer to my teen years I began drawing anime, a slightly more complex cartoon. It wasn’t until I was sixteen years old that I decided to try out realism. I started by drawing simple roses and eventually moved on to faces and animals. I am completely self taught and have never taken an art class. I won the art award when I graduated elementary school and then I was voted most artistic amongst my classmates when I graduated high school. I have since also explored other art mediums with water colour paints and even tried out pencil crayons but I always find my way back to realism.
