We’re Looking for Raffle Donations! 🎉

The Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner is coming up on Saturday, October 17th at the Dante Club, and this year we’re adding a raffle to help make an already great evening even more exciting!

We’re looking for businesses, individuals, sports collectors and community supporters who may be interested in donating a prize or package to our raffle.

We’d love to include things like:
🏒 Toronto Maple Leafs tickets
🏒 Detroit Red Wings tickets
🏒 Sarnia Sting tickets or a box
🎁 Gift baskets or experiences
🏆 Sports memorabilia and collectibles
✨ Or anything else you think our guests would love!

We’ve already received some fantastic donations, including a Masters flag and a YETI cooler filled with some fun surprises — and we’d love to keep the momentum going!

🏆 2026 Joe DeRush Award Recipient

Congratulations to Joanna Edwards, recipient of the 2026 Joe DeRush Memorial Award, presented annually to an athlete with a disability who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in sport.

A dedicated Special Olympics athlete, Joanna has excelled at the regional, provincial, and national levels. While attending Alexander Mackenzie Secondary School, she captured two OFSAA gold medals in track and has since been selected to Team Ontario for the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games. She is also an accomplished competitive swimmer.

Joanna will be recognized at the Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame’s 44th Annual Induction Dinner on October 17 at the Dante Club.

🏆 2026 Pappy Burr Award Recipients

Congratulations to Matteo Shaw and Janelle Boucher, who will share this year’s Pappy Burr Award! The award recognizes graduating students who exemplify excellence in academics, athletics, and community service as they continue their education at the post-secondary level.

Matteo Shaw graduated from St. Patrick’s High School with a 97% average. He excelled both in the classroom and in athletics, earning academic honours, setting a school record in the triple jump, competing at the U20 Canadian Indoor Championships, and standing out on the volleyball court.

Janelle Boucher, a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Secondary School, was an Ontario Scholar and recipient of both the Lieutenant Governor’s Community Volunteer Award and the Ministry of Education Award of Recognition for Community Involvement. She was also named Senior Girls Athlete of the Year and earned MVP honours in both badminton and tennis.

Congratulations to both outstanding recipients!

🏆 Calling All Student-Athletes! 🏆

The Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame is now accepting applications for the 2026 Ralph “Pappy” Burr Award!

This award recognizes graduating high school students who have demonstrated:
✅ Academic excellence
✅ Athletic achievement
✅ Leadership, volunteerism, and community involvement

Two deserving students entering college or university this fall will each receive a $500 scholarship and commemorative plaque. Applications must include a resume outlining athletic accomplishments, work experience, volunteer activities, extracurricular involvement, and a transcript of marks. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2026.

If you know a graduating student who excels both in the classroom and in sport, encourage them to apply before the deadline!
