Kalyna Country Ecomuseum Trust Society

Kalyna Country Ecomuseum Trust Society It is probably easiest to think of an ecomuseum as a broadly -defined "heritage" district that invites exploration by visitors from near & far.

It helps to know that the original meaning of the Greek word "eco", is "home", so an ecomuseum can be literally defined as "a place where people live which is interpreted (or presented) in the manner of a museum". But instead of going to one building or site to see exhibits and artifacts, visitors are instead encouraged to travel around a designated territory to learn about the past, the geography

, and the living cultures of the cultures of the communities that are organized under the umbrella concept of an ecomuseum.

Whose got camping photos they would like to share for a chance to win a Experience Alberta’s History family pass? Read original post for details.

Week 2: June 28-July 4
Theme: Camping
Featuring: Hideaway Adventure Grounds

Albertans are generally in full camping mode at this time of year. While many go to their favorite campsite, others turn camping into an experience for others to enjoy - like John of Hideaway Adventure Grounds.

You can book your own private camp experience, gather in comfort as you spend the night like an explorer under your canvas wall tent and explore the 160 acre aspen forest, complete with walking trails.

No matter what you decide, or if you camp at all we challenge you to take a picture of your camping experience, or a campground sign.

Add your images to the comments on this post and tag . All image submissions will be entered into a draw for a one time family pass to Experience Alberta’s History.

For more info on Hideaway Adventure Grounds you can find them on the History Check Mobile App, HC File: 102327 or visit one of their links below:

“WHY HAVE I NOT HEARD OFTHIS BEFORE?” Is a question I (Sheila Willis) have been asked often

500+ communities, each with sites that include everything a person could want or need to explore, engage, and learn about the area.

Every business or nonprofit can be included for FREE!
Think how listing every place a person can enjoy “something” can create economic development.

To create this video I searched the letter “E”. that search can include everything from vegan menu to fishing tackle to hall rentals. The list is unlimited.
To add those search words it costs $350 a year for businesses and it’s FREE for nonprofits.

That’s economical advertising through interest driven searches, giving everyone an affordable opportunity.

This grass roots project was designed to support non-profits, give businesses and economic development opportunity at a low cost and to preserve our history.

This is perhaps the largest, most inclusive mobile app of its kind and the question keeps arising, WHY HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THIS BEFORE?

Are we viral? No! We have been doing our best to reach out and gather content. Part of that is having owners and operators send us their information.

In June we launch province wide. We are being promoted on multiple websites and have been added to attractions maps and community guides. THEN we go viral.

IM ASKING YOU TO SHARE. A lot of people have given of their time and effort to make this project a reality with limited funding.

Every Alberta business owner needs to hear about this, and with about 10,000 that need to be reached, I’ll never do it alone.

Please take the split second to push the share button and be a part of this HUGE ALBERTA INITIATIVE.

It’s already an award winner and yet people ask - why have I not heard of this before?
