The art of discovery in New Brunswick.

Bell Tower Arts has evolved out of personal passion. A passion for the arts - from the emotions that can arise from viewing a simple painting, the feel of the textures on a hand made coffee mug, through to the sight of amazing architecture. A passion to share a unique discovery with others, and to help others around you shine. A passion to showcase where we call home - a very beautiful part of Canada. These combined passions are the foundation of how Bell Towers Arts is set to become something unique to all of those that join us.

Moving to New Brunswick back in the fall of 2016 from Vancouver Island where art abounds and is celebrated in many forms, at first felt as though the art world had yet to evolve here in New Brunswick. However, we were and are, mistaken...thankfully!

As new transplants to the province in 2016, there was plenty to discover, including the local art talents. New Brunswick is overflowing with nature, so it’s easy to be inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds one here every day of the year. It also has some wonderful historical architecture that captures the eye and pays forward the efforts of craftsmen that made it come to life and withstand the test of time. Thankfully there are some great venues that help celebrate all this local art. From quaint little studios on a rural back road, through to large gallery venues (by Maritime standards) in the major urban centers. Collectively, a showcase of local creativity is alive - but was there room to further support and expose these local talents we have discovered? We said Absolutely!

The seaside village of St. Martins, on the north shore of the famous Fundy Bay is where we now call home, and where the Bell Tower came to life. This quaint village, once a leading and bustling wooden ship building center, now plays host a few hundred years later to thousands of people annually that come to discover and enjoy the local, natural beauty of the beaches, sea caves, and nearby Fundy Trail Park - a natural gem for outdoor enthusiasts. Many of these visitors aren’t local to the area, New Brunswick, or even Canada. They come for new discoveries, new experiences, and to build upon memorable moments. We felt, why not give them a true “New Brunswick” experience where one can discover the many talents of local artisans. This is what they are ultimately seeking isn’t it?

Bell Tower Arts is intertwined with Bell Tower Bistro, that on the door is called Bell Tower Bistro & Arts. The venue for these entities is a former quaint church that was built in 1845 and has become a historical icon in St. Martins. It has been respectfully transformed into

a unique venue that acts as a brightly lit stage for New Brunswick food producers, artisans, and entertainers. Bell Tower Bistro is the only fresh-food, farm-to-table restaurant in the region, utilizing carefully selected ingredients in their seasonal menus from local vegetable and fruit farmers, meat producers, a nearby dairy, and local St. Martins fishermen. Enjoying a locally roasted organic coffee, loose-leaf tea, NB wine or craft beer alongside a meal or with one of the in-house baked goods builds upon the foody experience. We then compliment this with the wonderful visual and touch of local art of many mediums that surrounds diners in a unique gallery environment in amongst the numerous stunning stained glass windows and architectural features of the church’s interior. Let your senses come alive!

Our various artisan partners recognize our passion to bring their talents outward beyond their studios and into the hands and homes of those who join us in St. Martins or on-line via our e-commerce store. It’s true, we want to build the awareness and heighten the success of our local artists. We want to ensure they thrive, not merely survive. The ability to showcase their work in such a unique setting brings about a memorable experience for everyone.

We are very excited to bring this unique offering to the local community of St. Martins, and the many people that come to experience this quaint village and the Fundy Trail.
