Molly Lamb Bobak, SCP, CPE, CSGA, CSPWC, RCA, OC, ONB (1920-2014), watercolour, "Floral" , 17.5" x 23.5", signed lower right (Framed).

Molly Lamb Bobak (1920-2014) was a pioneering Canadian painter and the country's first officially appointed female war artist. Trained in Vancouver under Jack Shadbolt, she documented military life during the Second World War with energy and insight.

After the war, she settled in New Brunswick with fellow artist Bruno Bobak and developed a prolific career, known for her vibrant, expressive scenes of everyday life. Her work is held in major collections, including the National Gallery of Canada.

Peter Salmon (1942-2020) was a Welsh-born Canadian artist, illustrator, caricaturist, and educator whose work became closely associated with the cultural landscape of New Brunswick. After immigrating to Canada in 1966, Salmon settled in Saint John where he built a long and respected career as both a practicing artist and teacher. Known for his expressive oil paintings, vibrant landscapes, and theatrical set designs, his work was exhibited widely throughout Atlantic Canada and held in numerous private and public collections. Salmon also contributed significantly to the local arts community through theatre, mentorship, and arts education, leaving a lasting impact on the region's creative scene.

Bruno Cote (1940-2010), pastel on paper, "Landscape", 8" x 10", the work is signed lower right and is also signed. It is presented framed and bears a Galerie d'Art Vincent Inc. label on the reverse. Provenance: from a private Saint John N.B., Canadian collector.

Bruno Cote (1940-2010) was a Canadian landscape painter from Quebec City, renowned for his expressive and colorful depictions of the Canadian wilderness. Initially working in advertising, he devoted himself to painting full-time in the late 1970s, settling in Baie-Saint-Paul, Charlevoix, a region that inspired much of his work. Cote traveled extensively across Canada, capturing forests, mountains, rivers, and coastlines with dynamic brushwork and a keen sense of light and color. His paintings are held in public and private collections in Canada and abroad, including The Portage Trail, gifted to the Scottish Parliament in 2008.
