Caren’s style is extreme; soft and subtle when using water, and bold when using oils and acrylic. She frequently incorporates solids as embellishment and uses the pliable texture of oils to produce 3D effects. Her watercolor style moves from the “Big Brush” technique to a realistic and natural style. Caren found her inner self in the tiny seashore villages of deep South, and in the spiritual world

of the Anishinaabe culture. One of her native paintings was used for the cover of a native drumming CD to assist in speech therapy for the hearing impaired children of Northeastern Ontario. Caren has been to Kenya on a Mission work and her paintings reflected the diversity of our two cultures and the perceived hopelessness of the Kenyan women and children. Caren has exhibited her art in many local Galleries in Northern and Southern Ontario. She has recently opened her new studio at her home by turning her garage into her workshop. She greatly believes in being true to oneself and she is grateful for each day and life lessons learned. Caren has four lovely grown children and four grandchildren. She lives in Rutherglen, Ontario with her life partner, Jerry, and her many cats. She values her friendships, she plays the guitar, violin and drums. You may contact her at studiocgarageart.ca or 705-776-9705.
