Jeffrey Halstead’s solo exhibition TRAMPOLINE TRAMPOLEEN TRAMPOLIN continues at the gallery through September 12.

🕒 Gallery hours: Thu–Sat, 1–4 pm
Come visit! 🙌

The exhibition title begins with an object associated with recoil. A trampoline absorbs force and returns it, sending the body upward only for it to fall and rebound again. In TRAMPOLINE TRAMPOLEEN TRAMPOLIN, the word undergoes a similar movement, appearing correctly, phonetically, and incompletely. Its alternate spellings resemble the variations and errors embedded in online search terms and digital metadata.

Moving between play and system, the exhibition considers both the physical instability of bouncing and the repetitive structures through which images are found, categorized, and returned to us. Familiar cartoon figures, architectural interiors, digital fragments, grids, and printing artifacts appear in states of collision and partial recognition. Across aluminum panels, works on artboard, and screenprints, bodies are stretched, layered, interrupted, or reduced to recognizable features: eyes, ears, bows, gloves, and silhouettes.

We are thrilled to announce a solo exhibition by Jeffrey Halstead at L.L. Contemporary. The exhibition will showcase seventeen works produced between 2019 and 2026, spanning acrylic and UV print on aluminum, screenprint on paper, and large-scale video projection.

The exhibition will open on August 20 and run through September 5. The reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 29.

Jeffrey Halstead is a multidisciplinary artist working between architecture, moving image, and the digital condition. Trained as both an architect and visual artist, he works with projection, 3D scanning, spatial mapping, painting, screenprinting, and UV printing to explore how technologies of vision shape memory, desire, and control.

Halstead has exhibited in Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, and Venice. He holds an MFA from Columbia University, is a three-time MacDowell Fellow and an Art Omi resident, and previously worked closely with architect Frank Gehry. He lives and works between Toronto and New York.

We look forward to welcoming you to the exhibition and reception.✨🥂

Thank you to ADAC for organizing this meaningful exhibition and for all the care and effort that went into the catalogue. Thank you also to Bau-Xi Gallery for hosting the exhibition and bringing everyone together in such a generous space.

Three days until . We can’t wait to bring Leif Low-Beer’s work to our booth A6 at NADA New York.

Leif Low-Beer currently lives and works in Toronto and Berlin (and misses NYC, where he spent the last 20 years). His sculptures, drawings, and installations have been shown at galleries in the United States and Canada, including solo shows at Clint Roenisch in Toronto, Wild Project and Beginnings Gallery in New York, Okay Mountain in Austin, Buffalo Arts Center in Buffalo, and ADA Gallery in Virginia. He has presented large-scale installations at Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens, Space 1026 in Philadelphia, and most recently at Art Toronto.

Hope to see you in New York soon. 🍎✨

One week to go. We’re heading to New York for our first US art fair, NADA New York, presenting drawings and sculptures by Toronto- and Berlin-based artist Leif Low-Beer.

The presentation brings together works shaped by shifting relationships between form, color, and proximity, grounded in Low-Beer’s narrative-driven studio practice. They explore a muted in-between, where small compositions pull against a larger order while remaining open-ended and ambiguous. Beginning from a single object, each work expands to incorporate fragments that, once removed from their context, become marks that structure possible narratives.
