Three days until . We can’t wait to bring Leif Low-Beer’s work to our booth A6 at NADA New York.

Leif Low-Beer currently lives and works in Toronto and Berlin (and misses NYC, where he spent the last 20 years). His sculptures, drawings, and installations have been shown at galleries in the United States and Canada, including solo shows at Clint Roenisch in Toronto, Wild Project and Beginnings Gallery in New York, Okay Mountain in Austin, Buffalo Arts Center in Buffalo, and ADA Gallery in Virginia. He has presented large-scale installations at Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens, Space 1026 in Philadelphia, and most recently at Art Toronto.

Hope to see you in New York soon. šŸŽāœØ

One week to go. We’re heading to New York for our first US art fair, NADA New York, presenting drawings and sculptures by Toronto- and Berlin-based artist Leif Low-Beer.

The presentation brings together works shaped by shifting relationships between form, color, and proximity, grounded in Low-Beer’s narrative-driven studio practice. They explore a muted in-between, where small compositions pull against a larger order while remaining open-ended and ambiguous. Beginning from a single object, each work expands to incorporate fragments that, once removed from their context, become marks that structure possible narratives.

Built on the ideology of the ā€œPieces of My Mind, Paleā€ series, Zhan Zhang’s new series ā€œPieces of My Mind, Nebulaā€ at Art Toronto digs deep into inner dark/colorful thoughts and the connections between ideas, connections built unconsciously, and the inevitable mutation of thoughts as time goes by.

Childhood’s little ā€œlanternsā€ both constrain and protect these fragments of thought through years of personal experience, until they eventually burst into a nebula.

Every sharp and pointy piece one cuts off from their own personality for the sake of blending into social norms eventually comes back, attaches itself again, drags along, and becomes both weapon and te****le to reach a new edge.
