Join us for Art Talk Tuesdays, an opportunity to gather in an intimate setting at the MacKenzie Art Gallery to learn about art and art history, meet new friends, and exchange ideas.

Date: 2 June, 2026.
Fee: No charge for this drop-in program. No registration is required.
Time: 9:30-11:00 AM
Age range: 55+
Fee: There is no charge for this drop-in program. No registration is required.

We will begin each drop-in session in the Gallery, meeting around one work of art from the current exhibitions. Our Coordinator of Learning Initiatives will host conversations about the artwork, sharing stories and contextual information.

Participants are encouraged to draw or write ideas during the discussion. These visual and written notes help us gain a deeper understanding of the artwork by recalling memories and generating new ideas.

After our time in the exhibition space, our session will move to Craft Services by Crave Cafe, located inside the MacKenzie Art Gallery, for tea and coffee, as we continue our lively conversation in a relaxed setting.

Materials: Participants are encouraged to bring their own sketchbook and pencil or use the materials supplied. The use of materials is not mandatory, but they are helpful for some viewers.

COMING SOON!

Love Medicine, curated by Métis art historian Dr. Michelle McGeough, creates a space of recognition, care, and community, offering an artistic embrace in response to the historical and ongoing traumas inflicted by the settler nation-state on 2Spirit and Indigiq***r bodies.

Grounded in the belief that love can be a powerful force for healing and affirmation, the exhibition brings together works by Indigenous 2SLGBTQ+ artists across generations and regions. Exploring themes of healing, belonging, resilience, identity, and collective care, the exhibition honours the strength, complexity, and beauty of Indigenous q***r and Two-Spirit experiences.

Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 7 PM, featuring a special performance by Toronto-based Two-Spirit Dene multidisciplinary artist and Canada’s Drag Race Season 3 performer Chelazon Leroux. Presented in celebration of Queen City Pride Week.

🗓️ On view June 12 – November 1, 2026
📍 MacKenzie Art Gallery, Regina, SK

Enter the strange and shifting world of “Maia Stark: Strange Dark Memory”, an exhibition by Saskatoon-based artist Maia Stark.

Through ceramic sculpture and painting, Stark explores twins, mirrored selves, and shapeshifting figures, drawing on folklore and her own experience to reflect on identity, illness, and transformation. Her work moves between comfort and unease, where bodies blur and merge, and the self is always in flux.

We invite you to experience this poetic and deeply personal exhibition.
📆On view until August 9, 2026
