Twenty-three year old Allison Moore Libbey of Cookville, Alberta enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force on January 5th, 1915.

He arrived in England on the morning of June 14th, 1915. He went to Shorncliffe the same afternoon and from there went to St. Martin’s Plains. Allison trained for 4 months and then went to France on October 9th, 1915.

He was killed in the Battle of Courcelette after being hit with an artillery shell on September 15th, 1916. He is memorialized at the Vimy Ridge Memorial in France.

Mr. and Mrs. Soucy operated this Bank of Commerce in Redwater, but it was closed in 1925 and was sold to Mr. Arley Hinkley for a farm residence. The photo was taken from the area of the current ATB looking south towards the grain elevators and rail line.

To obtain useful weather forecasts, place on a level surface indoors in a dry, airy place.

The Old Witch will come out of the doorway 8-24 hours in advance of rain or stormy weather.

The Boy and Girl will come out of the doorway 8-24 hours in advance of clear or fair weather.

Both figures will remain evenly in the doorway to indicate changeable or variable weather.
